Abstract
Introduction: Kalleh-Pacheh is an Iranian food used in many part of Iran and many other countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. We found no information regarding the effect of this food on acute myocardial infarction. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of this food, together with diabetes and smoking on myocardial infarction in Arak district. Materials and Methods: This was a case-cohort study which was performed in Arak district. In this study the data of Arak sub-cohort was taken from Isfahan healthy heart project which was performed in 2001. Cases were myocardial infracted hospitalized patients who were resident in Arak at the time of study. We showed the effect of different exposure, on myocardial infarction by estimating relative risk and population attributable fraction and 95% confidence interval. Results: In this study 150 cases were compared with 6339 sub-cohorts. The population attributable fraction for Kalleh-Pacheh was 19% (95% CI, 6 to 30%). This measure for diabetes and smoking was 31% (95% CI, 23 to 39%) and 41% (95% CI, 31 to 49%) respectively. Conclusion: According to the results of our study smoking, diabetes and using Kalleh-Pacheh has significant effect on myocardial infarction

Abstract
Background: IFN-&lambda3 (IL-28B) is a new cytokine from the type III interferons. Its role in several biologic activities, such as regulation of immune responses, tumor and metastasis, or its functions in HBV and HCV diseases, has been shown. The present study evaluated the frequency of rs8099917 allele polymorphism in IFN-&lambda3 gene in Iranian population.
Materials and Methods: In this laboratory-experimental study, after collecting blood samples from 118 unrelated Iranian subjects, DNA extraction was performed according to the kit protocols. Evaluation of rs8099917 allele polymorphism was done by Nested-PCR and RFLP method using BsrDI and Tsp451 restriction enzymes.
Results: After running the tests and data analysis, the frequencies of GG genotype (2.5%), GT genotype (31.4%), and TT genotype (66.1%) were obtained. Allele frequencies were 71.22% for G allele and 81.78% for T allele.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that TT genotype and T allele are the dominant frequencies of rs8099917 allele of IFN-&lambda3 gene in Iranian population. Regarding the different established functions of IFN-&lambda3, frequency determination of this variant can be helpful in different studies, designs, evaluations, and treatment procedures in some diseases, such as tumors and hepatitis, in Iranian patients.

Abstract
Background: Hemophilia A is an X-linked bleeding disorder caused by heterogenous mutations in factor VIII gene that encodes coagulation factor VIII (F8) protein. Due to the high heterogeneity of mutations, large size (186 kb) and structural complexity of the F8 gene, direct mutation analysis is costly and time consuming. Alternatively, linkage analysis using informative polymorphic markers such as single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers has been introduced as a rapid and cost effective method for hemophilia A carrier detection in families with an affected individual. Several SNP markers associated with the F8 gene region have been studied.
Materials and Methods: In this exprimental study, the characteristics of A/T SNP (rs4898352) as an informative marker located in intron 18 of F8 gene region was investigated in Isfahanin population. rs4898352 marker was genotyped using tetra primer ARMS PCR method followed by agarose gel electrophoresis in 140 unrelated control healthy females in mentioned population. New primers were designed for rs4898352 marker using the oligo 7 software. The allele frequency, degree of heterozygosity and Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were estimated by use of Genepop program. The polymorphism information content (PIC) value was estimated using the Powermarker software.
Results: The results showed that the allele frequency of rs4898352 polymorphism for A and T alleles was 0.482 and 0.518, respectively. The observed heterozigosity rate was 60%. Analysis of Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium demonstrated that the Isfahan population was in equilibrium (p>0.05) for rs4898352 marker. Moreover, analysis of PIC value revealed that this marker could be considered as a highly informative marker in the mentioned population.
Conclusion: Together, the data suggested that rs4898352 could be introduced as an informative marker for molecular diagnosis of hemophilia A in Isfahan Population

Abstract
Background: Niemann-Pick disease (NPD) refers to a group of lysosomal storage diseases that causes abnormal metabolism of lipids. One of the genes that play a role in the pathogenesis of this disease is SMPD1. To date, more than hundred disease- causing mutations have been identified in SMPD1 gene. Due to the large number of mutations in this gene, direct analysis of the mutations is costly and time-consuming. Therefore, indirect linkage analysis using polymorphic markers as an alternative method for molecular diagnosis of the mutations has been recommended. In the present study, allele frequency of rs1542705 genetic marker was analyzed in the Iranian population. The aim was to determine the polymorphic information content (PIC) and the possibility of its application in indirect diagnosing of NPD.
Materials and Methods: After bioinformatics analysis of the SMPD1 gene region, rs1542705 marker was selected for genotyping in Isfahan population. In order to calculate the allele and genotype frequency of the marker, molecular tests were done on 113 DNA samples of unrelated healthy individuals by using ARMS-PCR technique. Finally, the information related to the genotype of the individuals was statistically analyzed using Powermarker and Genepop software.
Results: The analyses showed that the studied population was in accordance with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Allele frequency of rs1542705 marker for T and C alleles was 71.24% and 28.76%, respectively, and the heterozygosity of the marker was 43.36%. Also, polymorphic information content (PIC) was 0.325.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that rs1542705 marker could be considered as an informative marker for molecular diagnosis of Niemann- Pick disease using linkage analysis in the studied population.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Present study was conducted to investigate the prediction of juvenile delinquency based on individual vulnerability and the risk opportunity in the family, peers, school and neighborhood in high schools in Tehran
Materials and Methods: This is a coss-sectional study. The statistical population of this study included all the female and male students of 20 districts of Tehran who were studying in high school during the academic year 2013-2014. The sample size of the study was 1847 individuals (946 (51.2%) girls and 901 (48.8%) boys). The sampling was performed in a multi-stage cluster method due to the extent of the population, and the participants of this study completed the socio-mental protective and risk factors and behaviors scale. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis, stepwise method, and SPSS-24 statistical software.
Findings: Results of present study showed that among predictor variables, risk opportunity/availability (B=0.67, t=13.28, p<0.001), vulnerability/family (B=0.37, t=8.57, p<0.001), and vulnerability/school (B=1.14, t=6.7, p<0.001) have significant prediction effect on adjusted index of adolescents’ delinquent behavior, also adolescent boys do more delinquent behavior than girls (t (1823) =4.82, p<0. 01).
Conclusion: This study showed that the individual vulnerability and risk opportunity in the family, peers, school and neighborhood predict delinquent behavior in adolescents. So, it is necessary to take preventive measures and interventions for this age group, risk factors should be considered at individual, school and family levels.

Abstract
Today, declining birth rates and families’ reluctance to have children for various reasons pose challenges for both individuals and societies. One of the key factors influencing fertility is individuals’ attitudes toward this issue, with religious beliefs being among the most fundamental perspectives. The Islamic faith, in particular, has addressed this matter in numerous verses and narrations. This study aims to explore the viewpoints of significant Islamic religious sources regarding fertility.The research is based on an extensive review of authentic library documents and data from various databases such as PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, as well as search engines like Google Scholar. The findings indicate that, in addition to several verses in the Quran, Islamic texts related to the Imams, such as Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa Sajjadiya, explicitly encourage childbearing and population growth, while condemning population decline. These sources identify four general factors—individual, economic, political system, and social-cultural status—that influence population increase or decrease. Given the valuable Islamic resources regarding childbearing and the existing challenges in societies related to population decline and aging, it is possible to take significant steps to improve individuals’ and families’ attitudes toward childbearing by reinforcing Islamic lifestyles and religious beliefs..
