Abstract
Introduction: The relation between Helicobacter pylori with iron deficiency is being studied in recent years. The aim of this study is finding the relation between Helicobacter pylori with the rate of hemoglobin and serum ferritin.
Material and Methods: This study is an observational study and a cross-sectional type which is done analytical-descriptive against 262 patients suffering from anemia and for each patient the amounts of Hemoglobin, MCV, serum ferritine and Helicobacter IgG titre is calculated and then the relation between these amounts and Helicobacter is evaluated.
Results: In 147 patients (56%), Helicobacter IgG antibody was negative. In 78 cases (29.8%) the serum ferritin was less than 120 µgr/dlit. Using statistical analysis (Logistic regression) revealed that there was a statistical relation between the amount of ferrittin and the chance of strickened with Helicobacter in individuals whom their ferrittin rate was less than 12, 1.93% of patients whom their ferrittin is more than 12 and the enhance is significant. By the way it was cleared that there is not any significant statistical relation between MCV reduction and the chance of being strickened with Helicobacter.
Conclusion: Serum ferrittine rate in patients with Helicobacter pilory infection reduced and this reduce was significance. Previous studies in other countries indicated to this issue.

Abstract
Introduction: Nowadays, depression is one of the most prevalent psychological disorders and is a prevalent mood disorder. Recently researches about depression etiology, show that in addition to different neurotransmitters and life events, internal stressors such as serum cholesterol, triglyceride and some coagulation factors can have an effect. This study was focused on the relationship between major depressive disorder and serum cholesterol level. Materials and Methods: This research is a case control study that was performed in the year 2006. Case group were 62 patients referred to Hashemi Senejani psychiatric medical center and control group were chosen from ENT ward patients of Amir-Kabir hospital. Both groups were paired match for age, gender and education. In order to determine serum cholesterol level, 5cc blood sample was taken of each person from both groups. Data was analyzed using K-S and Mann-Witheny U tests. Results: The mean age of samples was 35.5±9.9 years. 77% were female, 67.2% married, 25.8% single and 6.5% divorced. Average serum cholesterol level in case group (215.6 ± 47.6 mg/dl) in comparison to control group (183.1 ± 31.2 mg/dl) was significantly higher (p<0.05). Conclusion: Regarding the results, it seems that serum cholesterol is an internal stressor for depressive disorder so everyone with high serum cholesterol level must be evaluated for depressive disorder.

Abstract
Introduction:Hyperlipidemia is one of the major risk factors of cardiovascular diseases. This study was done to assess lipid profiles according to sex and place of residence in the urban and rural area of Arak for controlling cardiovascular diseases. Materials and Methods:This descriptive study is the first phase of healthy heart program which was done in Arak. Sampling was randomized cluster. A questionnaire was used to collect demographic data and paraclinical test results (total cholesterol, LDL-c, HDL-c ,and Triglyceride). Data was analyzed using T-student, Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Mann-Whitney and Chi-square tests. Results: Of 4303 individuals over 30 years, 51.6% were female. Total cholesterol, LDL-c and HDL-c disturbances were more in female (p<0.05) but there was not a sigmifiant difference between male and female in triglyceride disturbance. The increase in serum lipids was signfiantly different in urban and rural areas, in which total cholesterol and LDL-c disturbances were more in rural and triglyceride disturbance was more in urban areas (p<0.0001). Conclusion: High prevalence of dyslipidemia in the studied region can be related to unhealthy life style, nutrition and inadequate physical activity, so dyslipidemia and cadiovascular diseases could be decreased by changing lifestyle.

Abstract
Background: Hyperemesis Gravidarum is the pernicious vomiting during pregnancy that causes various complications. This present was investigated to relationship between Helicobacter Pylori and Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Methods and Materials: 80 women with 7-16 gestational age, participated in this case-control study. It was done in Obstetric Clinical of Shabihkhani Hospital in Kashan from April to July 2008.The case group had Hyperemesis Gravidarum but the control group did not. The criteria for Hyperemesis Gravidarum were pernicious vomiting (more than 3 times a day) and the presence of one pluse ketonuria. Serum titre of anti Helicobacter pylori IgG with standard ELAZA kit in each group then compared. Chi square test was applied for data analysis and significancy was P-Value less than 0.05. Results: The mean of age was 25.4±4.5 in case and 22.4±4.6 in control group. There were no statistically significant differences in age, gestational age, gravity and parity between two groups. The frequency of Helicobacter Pylori was 75% in case and 35% in control group. Difference was significant (p=0.001). Conclusion: In this study, significant relationship between Hyperemesis Gravidarum and Helicobacter Pylori was seen. Regarding to Helicobacter Pylori causes peptic ulcer and hyperemesis imitates some Peptic ulcer symptoms, more studies should be carried out to determine this relationship.

Abstract
Background: Recent studies have shown that nicotinic-amide and niacin induce significant reductions in serum phosphorous in patients undergoing hemo-dialysis. The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of nicotinic acid on serum phosphorous level in patients undergoing long-term hemodialysis.
Materials and Methods: In an 8-week cross-over randomized double-blind clinical trial, 37 patients were assigned to nicotinic acid or placebo groups with titration from 400 to 1000 mg/ daily. A 2-week washout preceded the switch from nicotinic acid to placebo or vice versa. Statistical analysis was performed using paired- sample t test.
Results: The mean dose of nicotinic acid at the end of the period was 740±204 mg/daily. Nicotinic acid showed a significant decrease in serum phosphorus after the 8-weeks treatment however no significant changes occurred in the placebo group (P =0.01). Also, nicotinic acid resulted in an increase of HDL cholesterol levels after 8 weeks.
Conclusion: Nicotinic acid can lead to a decrease and an increase in serum phosphorous and HDL cholesterol levels, respectively. However, there is need for longer trials with larger sample sizes for determining the most effective doses of this drug.

Abstract
Background: Probiotics are live microorganisms that have positive effects on the host when consumed in sufficient amounts. According to several studies, probiotics have beneficial effects on prevention and treatment of many diseases. The aim of this study was to review animal and human studies on the role of probiotics in reducing serum cholesterol, their mechanisms of action, and a brief explanation of functional probiotic foods. Materials and Methods: This review article focused on all papers indexed in scientific databases from 2000 to 2012 using the related keywords, including cardiovascular diseases, probiotics, and serum cholesterol. Results: Probiotics are used both in dairy and non-dairy products. Nowadays, the role of many probiotic strains in health is confirmed. From the studies done in this field, it can be inferred that probiotics through several mechanisms, such as binding cholesterol to cell walls of probiotics in intestine, conversion of cholesterol into coprostanol, production of short chain fatty acids, and deconjugation of bile acids, reduce serum cholesterol. Conclusion: Certain strains of probiotics have demonstrated cholesterol-lowering properties and others are under study. Further studies are needed to identify other mechanisms involved in lowering serum cholesterol and determine their safety

Abstract
Background: There is priority for evaluation of micronutrients (vitamin A) in the world, especially in develpoing countries like Iran. Vitamin A has an essentiall role in growth, reproduction, and maintenace of epithelial cells. Vitamin A, especially retinoic acid, acts like a hormone for gene expression. Vitamin A is necessary for growth of bones and immune system. The role of vitamin A in reducing mortality rates of neonates is well recognized. The aim of research is to evaluate this micronutrient (vitamin A) and the rate of transportation from mother to fetus and its positive effects on birth weight.
Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, 90 pregnant mothers were selected from private and public hospitals in Arak. Data were gathered through a questionnaire including general information concerning pregnant mothers and also their nutritional diet. The analysis of dietary intake was done by Nutritionist IV software. The measurements of serum and cord blood retinol samples were carried with reverse phase HPLC. Data analysis was done by Pearson correlation.
Results: The results indicated a positive and significant correlation between cord blood retinol of mothers and birth weight of neonates (r=0.22) (p&ge0.05). There was not a significant correlation between serum retinol of the mothers and birth weight of the neonates. Also, there was no significant correlation between retinol intakes of the mothers and birth weight of the neonates.
Conclusion: Improvement of the retinol status of mothers has an effective role in normal birth weight of neonates.

Abstract
Background: Considering the high prevalence of diabetes and developing cardiovascular diseases via dyslipidemia and inflammation in type 2 diabetic patients, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of Oligofructose-enriched inulin on serum lipid concentrations and inflammation in type2 diabetic patients.
Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial, 52 patients with type 2 diabetes were assigned to one of two groups. Experimental group (n=27) received 10g/d oligofructose-enriched inulin and control group (n=25) received 10 g/d maltodextrin for 8 weeks. Dietary intakes, anthropometric measurements, hs-CRP and serum lipids concentrations were measured at the baseline and at the end of the study. Data were analyzed using SPSS software (verision11.5). Paired, independent t-test and ANCOVA were used to compare comparison of quantitative variables.
Results: At the end of study, we observed significant decrease in total cholesterol (28.00 mg/dL, 14.10%), LDL-c (22.00 mg/dL, 21.7%), TC/HDL-c ratio (-0.73, 20.7%) and LDL-c/HDL-c ratio (-0.55, 27.5%) in oligofructose-enriched inulin compared with the maltodextrin group (p<0.05). Changes in concentrations of triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein were not significant in oligofructose-enriched inulin compared to maltodextrin group.
Conclusion: Oligofructose-enriched inulin supplementation with improving in inflammtion and lipid profile help in management of type 2 diabetes and its complications.

Abstract
Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. An important goal for cancer patients is to improve the quality of life (QOL) by maximizing functions affected by the disease and its therapy. This study examined the effects of massage therapy on quality of life in women with breast cancer after surgery.
Materials and Methods: The study was quasi-experimental. Among the 53 women with breast cancer surgery and oncology clinic of Arak, 30 were randomly allocated in two groups of massage therapy (n=15) and 5 weeks (30 min, 2 sessions per week) and control (15 cases). Cortisol levels and quality of life questionnaire (SF36) was redirected and mental health groups. Data analysis software SPSS version 16 using paired t-test and one-way analysis of variance and a confidence level of 95% (p<0.05) was performed.
Results: The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group improved after the massage, physical (p=0.001) and psycho-social (p=0.002) were compared with control subjects. Massage also improves quality of life and mental health in breast cancer patients after surgery was (p<0.05). However, serum cortisol levels between the experimental and control groups were not significant (p>0.05).
Conclusion: The overall results of this study showed that massage therapy can be an effective intervention to improve quality of life and mental health in patients with breast cancer during radiotherapy is used.

Abstract
Background: Toxoplasma gondii is an important pathogenic protozoan. This parasite can cause severe infection and may lead to abortion. Abnormal levels of cholesterol and other lipids in blood samples of infected persons have raised some questions on the role of these factors in the pathogenesis of Toxoplasma.This study aimed to measure and compare lipid and testosterone levels and the relationship between them among a selected group of men with and without Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody.
Materials and Methods: This case – control study was conducted on a group of 20 to 29 years old men referred to the pre-marital clinics in Arak city in 2012. After completing a questionnaire, a blood sample (5 ml) was taken from each subject. Then, required diagnostic tests for toxoplasmosis was conducted. According to diagnostic results, 100 men with Toxoplasma antibodies were defined as cases and another group with equal number but without antibodies was defined as controls. Then, levels of testosterone and lipids in serum of these two groups were measured and compared.
Results: Findings showed that testosterone levels were in normal range in both cases and controls, but the hormone level was significantly lower among cases. There was no significant difference in terms of serum lipid levels.
Conclusion: Examination of relationship between blood testosterone and lipids levels among cases and controls showed that there was a significant negative correlation between testosterone and triglyceride levels. Also, there was a significant positive correlation between testosterone and HDL levels.

Abstract
Background: Maturation of oocytes and fertilization in vitro can be considered as one of the most important steps to treat infertility. In this study maturation medium was enriched with Platelet extraction (PL) which has high concentration of growth factors. Meiosis resumption and maturation was monitored after 18 hours of maturation.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, oocytes at germinal vesicle stage were obtained from mature NMRI female mice. Maturation medium was &alphaMEM and the control groups had 5-10% FBS and the medium in the experimental groups was enriched by 5, 10% PL and the combination of 5% PL and 5% FBS. Meiosis resumption and maturation were observed after 18 hours.
Results: The rate of matured oocytes in the experimental group 5% PL for both COC and DO group was significantly higher than the control groups (P<0.05). The maturation rate for 5% PL was 61% for the COC group and 72% for the DO group while this rate for 5% FBS control group was 53% and 50% respectively.
Conclusion: PL had a significant effect on meiosis resumption and maturation of oocyte at germinal vesicle stage. Based on these results, PL could be used as a maturation promoting factor.

Abstract
Background: Human serum albumin (HSA) is a soluble blood protein which can bind to small molecules (such as drugs and toxins) and transfer them within the blood circulation.
Materials and Methods: UV-Vis spectroscopy and FT-IR methods were used to characterize the binding properties of HSA with diazinon(the toxin of organophosphate) and to investigate the changes of protein secondary structure, respectively, in molecular level under physiological condition in two times of first and thirty five days .
Results: The binding constant (KDiazinon-HSA = 3.367 ) was have been calculated based UV-Vis spectroscopy data. In FT-IR method, the proportion of decrease in percentage of &alpha-Helix on the first day was 53.97% to 51.88%, other secondary structures increased, such as Turns from 8.49% to10.21%, ß-Sheet from 13.94% to 14.81%, &beta-anti from 8.2% to %8.25 and r-coils from 15.4% to % 17.24. These changes for &alpha-Helixes, Turns, ß-Sheet, &beta- anti and random r-coils after thirty five days were 56.7% to 47.11%, 25.3% to 29.75%, 6.93% to 10.94%, 2% to 2.83% and 9.08% to 10.86%, respectively.
Conclusion: Since the content of protein secondary structure relates closely with its biological activity, therefore, a decrease in &alpha-helix and increase in &beta-sheet structure in the presence of diazinon at high concentration means the decrease of HSA biological activity. Our results suggest that diazinon has a relatively good binding with HSA and it could cause considerable changes in various secondary structures and likely is indicative of a unfolding of protein especially for the samples in thirty five days .

Abstract
Background: The evidence suggests that obesity causes the chronic inflammation. Chemerin is a new adipokine which is associated with obesity and metabolic syndrome. The effects of combined training on levels of inflammatory markers specialy chemerin and serum amyloid-A has been less studied.The present study aims to examine the effect of six weeks combined training on plasma levels of chemerin, CRP and SAA and plasma lipid in obese men.
Materials and Methods: 18 obese men were divided into control and experimental groups. General characteristics of subjects serum levels of chemerin, CRP and SAA were examined (by ELISA method), before and after one session training. Endurance training protocol was performed on the large muscles included in 6 weeks running around the track with 60 to 75% HRmax, 4 sessions per week, intense resistance training for 25 to 30 minutes with 50 to 70% of one repetition maximum of 6 stations (2 sets, 12 Reps). Data analysis was performed by T-independent test for comparison of two control and training groups, T-paired test for comparison of two groups before and after the test and significant level of p≤0.05 was considered.
Results: The results show that 6 weeks combined training significantly decrease the plasma levels of chemerin (p=0.004), and SAA (p=0.009), but there was not any significant decrease on CRP levels(p=0. 476). So, it can be concluded that combined training will affect on some inflammatory markers in obese men and improve them.
Conclusion: One session combined training for 6 weeks significantly affects on plasma levels of chemerin and serum amyloid-A, however, it doesn't decrease the plasma levels of C-reactive protein (CRP).

Abstract
Abstract
Background: Nanoparticles are used in various applications due to unique mechanical and physicochemical properties such as their increased surface area to volume ratio and quantum effects. This study was designed to investigate the cytotoxic effects of zinc oxide nanopaticles on hematological and biochemical parameters BALB/c mice.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 28 adult male mice BALB/c, were divided into four groups (one control group and three experimental groups). The mice in the experimental groups orally received Zinc Oxide nanoparticles with doses of 50, 100 and 300 mg/kg for 14 days. The control group received distillated water only. On 15th day, some hematological and biochemical parameters were studied on the blood samples collected.
Results: Results showed that Zinc Oxide nanoparticles cause changes in blood cells. In high concentration, nanoparticles increased some of factors such as white blood cells, hemoglubin, MCV and neutrophil and besides decreased amount of RBCs, pLTs, hematocrit, lymphocytes, glucose and kratenin significantly (p<0.05).
Conclusion: The findings showed that zinc oxide nanoparticles cause harmful effects due to the considerable variations in hematological and serum parameters in mice in a dose-dependent way.

Abstract
Abstract
Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a myelinating inflammation and an impairment of neuronal cell regeneration in the central nervous system with unknown causes. The aim of this study was to evaluate serum melatonin levels in the treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis.
Materials and Methods: A prospective study and a Cohort were conducted on 40 MS patients with multiple sclerosis patients referring to instituate MS in Arak city for one year. In this study, patients who were treated with interferon-moderating drugs and who had not been treated for more than one year were randomly selected. A questionnaire containing demographic information and clinical information and separation of interacting factors was completed and completed. Clinical information included MRI, VEP, EDSS (Expanded Disability Status Scale) score, and clinical symptoms. The patients also received peripheral blood samplers 3 times in 6 months intervals to measure melatonin and their melatonin levels, and then the relationship between the data obtained from the patient's clinical data, EDSS, serum melatonin levels using the software SPSS with ANOVA and Post-hoc statistical analyzed.
Results: In patients with MS, in spite of receiving drug treatment, the level of melatonin as an antioxidant decreased in second order sampling, which is consistent with the deterioration of the patient's clinical condition (EDSS test), and this is not observed in the control group.
Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, it can be argued that the level of melatonin is a measurable objective and measurable variable (with the help of ELISA) that can be used in the follow-up of these patients, along with clinical evaluations and questionnaires.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Low Back Pain is one of the most common complains of Human societies. LDH (Lumber Disk Herniation) is one of the relatively common causes of Low Back Pain. This study aimed to assay serum zinc cofactor in patients compared to healthy group.
Materials and Methods: Sixty patients which were diagnosed as a "known case of LDH" by the specialist and based on tests were chosen by simple selection method (30 men and 30 women). Also, 57 people were chosen as a control group (29 men and 28 women). measurement was done based on single reagent direct calorimetric method using the kit made by "Ziestchem diagnostics company, Iran".
Findings: Total, 117 objects were observed in case and control groups. Serum zinc level was measured in all of them. Obtained results were analyzed by Student t-test, and ꭕ2, by using SPSS software with the confidence interval of 95 percent. Results showed that 21.7% of patients with LDH were having high physical activity and 36.7% having low physical activity.
Conclusion: There was a significant difference between the mean serum zinc levels in patients with LDH compared to control group. Decrement in serum zinc may be considered as an distruption factor in the activity of enzymes involved in proteins biosynthesis.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Human Serum Albumin (HSA) is one of the most abundant proteins in the blood vascular system which regulates the transportation of many chemical compounds and molecules. The purpose of this study is to review the studies about the effects of three groups of pesticides (Insecticides, herbicides and fungicides) on the molecular structure of HSA protein.
Methods & Materials: This systematic review covers 35 studies of biophysical studies of the effect of pesticides on HSA protein. These papers were searched in PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science databases and using Google Scholar search engine among those published from 1980 to 2019.
Ethical Considerations: In this study, all ethical principles were considered.
Results: Given the close relationship between biological activities of HSA and its secondary structure, the most of the reviewed articles analyzed the secondary structures of the HSA using various biophysical methods such as Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Circular Dichroism (CD) and computational analysis. In general, HSA-pesticides interactions can cause a reduction in α-helix structure and an increase in other secondary structures including β-sheet, β-anti, and random coils. In the most reports, it has been proven that the pesticides interact with HSA through hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonding. These interactions take place in the IIA subdomain (Site 1) of HSA. The binding constants of these interactions were in the range of 10 3 to 10 6 M-1.
Conclusion : The changes around the single important tryptophan residue of HSA (Trp-214) induce conformational deformity in the IIA subdomain of this protein which causes the loss of its native structure and leads to a decrease in free HSA concentrations which subsequently interrupts the transport of the essential compounds like drugs and hormones in the blood vascular system.

Abstract
Introduction: Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) is a common bacterial disease that affects the intestinal tract. Several methods like Multiplex or real-time PCR, ELISA, and Agglutination are used to identify these bacteria. However, normally rapid, cost effective and easy diagnostic methods such as agglutination test is recommended. In Iran, positive control antiserums used in diagnostic kits work based on polyvalent agglutination and are against O and H antigens. The purpose of this research was to produce specific anti-sera against O and H antigens for using in agglutination and ELISA kits.
Methods: New Zealand white rabbits were immunized by intravenous injections of inactivated bacterial O and H antigens adjusted to a cell density equivalent to a turbidity of a McFarland number 3 standard. Serum collection was performed 7 days after the last injection. Collected Antisera were tested with positive human specimens as well as cross-reaction antibodies. Absorption method was used to obtain specific anti-sera against O and H antigens. Produced Anti-O and Anti-H antibodies were mixed with bacterial H and O antigens respectively and incubated for 1 hours in 37˚c. The Mixture was centrifuged and the supernatant was collected. Furthermore, in order to use these antisera in specific kits such as ELISA, Immunofluorescence etc., purification methods like Ammonium sulphate precipitation, tangential Flow Filtration and Chromatography were performed. This study was approved by the ethics committee of Pasteur Institute of Iran (Code: IR.PII.REC.1399.006).
Results: Results of agglutination test before and after adsorption showed cross-reaction before adsorption and no cross-reaction with H and O antigens with monospecific antisera against O and H after adsorption, respectively. Moreover, high quality and quantity of mono-specific antibody was obtained after purification.
Conclusions: Serum-based assays are recommended for the timely diagnosis of the disease since these assays are specific, sensitive, inexpensive, and rapid. Therefore, the produced antiserum in the present research can be used in primary screening of salmonella infections based on agglutination tests which are cost effective and simple. In addition, purified anti-sera can be used in the development of ELISA and Immunofluorescence assays.
