Abstract

Abstract Background: Tendency to use of portfolio for evaluating has been developed with the aim of optimum use of assessment culture. Present study was done to determine the effect of portfolio’s evaluation method on midwifery students’ learning and satisfaction in gynecology practical training. Materials and Methods: In this qusi-experimental study, all midwifery students in sixth semester (n=42), were randomly allocated to portfolio and routine evaluation group. Based on educational goals, portfolio groups prepared package which consists of a complete report of history, physical exam and method of patient management for women whom visited gynecology clinic and were evaluated by a portfolio’s evaluation checklist. During the last day of their course, post test, clinical exam and opinion form were taken. Results: The mean of age, score of pretest and gynecology theory were similar in both groups. The mean of pre and post test scores for students of both groups didn’t have significant difference for knowledge and comprehension levels. The mean score of application, analysis and cognitive higher levels questions in portfolio group were significantly greater than routine evaluation group (p=0.001, p=0.02, respectively). The mean of clinical exam score in both groups had a significant difference. In portfolio group, mean of diagnostic and therapeutic solution and Communication between theoretical and clinical leanings scores were more. Students’ overall satisfaction scores in two evaluation methods were similar. Conclusion: Portfolio evaluation provides the opportunity for more learning by increasing the student’s participation in learning process and helping them to apply theory in practice.

Abstract

Background: Job satisfaction is regarded as an individual's opinion of his or her job. Noticing the key role of hospital personnel in giving health services to patients, this study was designed to determine job satisfaction of hospital personnel in Arak. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 702 hospital personnel through simple sampling method. The means of gathering data were demographic and Herzberg's job satisfaction questionnaires. Job satisfaction was categorized in three levels. Results: Results in eight domains showed that most personnel's satisfaction of job environment (%75.2), relationship with co-workers (%49), salary and benefits(%75.1), job position(%60.5), job security (%64.6), supervision(%64),management policy(%59.2)and personal life relations (%65.7)were at average levels. Overall, %82.2 of the personnel had an average satisfaction with their jobs. The greatest level of satisfaction was with relationship with co-workers and the lowest level of satisfaction was related to job difficulty benefits, establishment of justice and fairness, discrimination and lack of facilities. X2 statistical test revealed significant differences amolay sex, level of education, type of employment, type of job and work shift. Conclusion: Overall, Job satisfaction in this study was at an average level. Increasing salaries, job difficulty benefits, on time payment and providing welfare facilities are essential for the improvement of job satisfaction in this group.

Abstract

Background: Job satisfaction is viewed as all inclinations or positive feelings that individuals have towards their jobs. Medical universities are in need of motivated professors, as one important paradigm of education, to instruct students of medicine and to improve health and medicine in the society. Noticing the importance of job satisfaction among faculty members in promotion of university aims and enhancement of productivity, this study was conducted to evaluate job satisfaction among faculty members of Arak University of Medical Sciences (AUMS) in 2010. Materials and Methods: This study was a cross-sectional, observational one and the study population consisted of all faculty members at AUMS. Sampling was performed by census and data were collected through demography questionnaire including sex, age, scientific stage, educational department, employment status, and job experience, and Herzberg job satisfaction questionnaire. Results: The mean (standard deviation) of job satisfaction in faculty members of AUMS was 60.72 (11.51) and the mean (standard deviation) of the surveyed stages were as follows: work nature (74.46(12.60)), supervision and relations (62.15(13.69)), job security (57.58 (15.72)), promotion opportunities (57.28(15.74)), physical conditions and work environment (55.84 (14.14)), and salary and benefits (55.56(16.87)) from the maximum 100 score. Conclusion: AUMS faculty members were satisfied with their jobs on the whole. The greatest job satisfaction was related to work nature and the least job satisfaction was with salaries and benefits. By increasing salaries and benefits and providing promotion opportunities, job satisfaction can be enhanced in this group.

Abstract

Background: From an administrational point of view, patient satisfaction with healthcare, diagnosis, and rehabilitation services is highly important. The present study was done to evaluate the satisfaction of patients referring to the emergency departments of hospitals in Arak. Materials and Methods: This study was a descriptive-analytic, cross-sectional one which was carried out using a questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS software and the related tests. Results: Overall, over the first period, 72.9% of the patients were satisfied with the services, whereas this level of satisfaction reached 73.3% in the second period. By comparison, levels of satisfaction with the physical environment (86.2%), health condition (85.9%), speed and accuracy of care provider (69.6%), the quality of information provision (23.1%), behavior of guards and staff (60.2%), facilities (60.1%), drug availability (66.4%), discharge and costs (51.6%), and consideration of religious issues (86.6%) in the emergency departments over the first period reached 87.4%, 84.1%, 69.7%, 25.6%, 61.7%,67.9%, 50.9%, and 88.1%, respectively over the second period. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that patients’ satisfaction with emergency departments’ services was reasonable. The greatest dissatisfaction was related to costs, drugs, procedural problems, method of treatment, facilities, wait time, and insufficient information provision.

Abstract

Background: This study was done to assess the validity and reliability of Najmie Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (NJSQ) in order to provide a suitable tool for measuring job satisfaction (JS). Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 212 staff members at Najime Subspecialty Hospital were selected by stratified sampling method. The participants took NJSQ. After evaluating content validity, confirmatory and explanatory factor analysis and Cronbach's Alpha were used to examine construct validity and reliability of the questionnaire, respectively. SPSS software version 16 was used to analyze the data. Results: The samples, 212 subjects, consisted of 181 (86.6%) women and 28 (13.4%) men. The explanatory factor analysis showed 4 factors with 54% total variance and 0.82% Kaser-Meyer-Olkin index. These factors were also verified by confirmatory factor analysis (P=0.368). In addition, the reliability of the questionnaire was reported to be 0.88% based on Cronbach's alpha method. Conclusion: Since validity and reliability indexes were reported suitable, NJSQ can be considered a valid and reliable questionnaire for measuring JS.

Abstract

Background: Sexual dysfunction is a common, progressive disorder which is related to age and it affects the quality of life and sexual and interpersonal relationship. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between self-esteem and sexual dysfunction and satisfaction in women who referred to the health centers of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional (descriptive-analytic) study was done on 120 women referring to the health centers of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences that met the inclusion criteria. Data collection tools were demographic, GHQ-28, Kovair Smith, and FSFI questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SPSS software (version 16). Results: The overall incidence of sexual dysfunction was 64% and the greatest frequencies were related to pain and sexual satisfaction 37% and 20%, respectively. Also, 90% of the subjects had high self-esteem and the rest 10% had low self-esteem. There was a significant relationship between self-esteem and sexual dysfunction (p<0.05). Conclusion: The findings of this study showed a significant relationship between self-esteem and sexual dysfunction and satisfaction in women, especially in those with low self-esteem that presented greater sexual dysfunction and satisfaction.

Abstract

Background: One of the most common problems in Menopausal women is reduce of sexual satisfaction, which can affect their quality of life. The aim of the present study was the effect of Afrodit on sexual satisfaction in postmenopausal women.

Materials and Methods: In the triple blind clinical trial with the placebo group participated 80 healthy females 50-60 years that were referred to health centers affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Participants were randomly assigned to two groups, Afrodit groups and placebo capsules for a month. Used tool in this study was Sabatsbrg. Part of which was to assess sexual satisfaction.

Results: After a month intervention, there is significant difference in the mean score for sexual satisfaction between two groups (p=0.01), Sexual satisfaction compared with pre-menopausal in two groups were compared. T-test results showed no significant difference. (p=0.16).

Conclusion: The results show Afrodit improves the sexual satisfaction in menopausal women. So it is essential that health providers are familiar with this herb supplement.

Abstract

Background: Quality of life in Tracheostomy patients who are discharged from hospital and take care of your home will be affected by the current situation. Therefore, proper training can improve their quality of life also will increase the satisfaction of the training provided. Based on this, the researcher was to investigate the effects of video tape on quality of life and satisfaction in patient with tracheostomy.

Materials and Methods: This research is a Quasi-experimental study in Imam Khomeini and Amir alam Hospital of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in1392. In this study 80 patient were randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. In the discharge questionnaire on demographic characteristics, quality of life (SF-36) and satisfaction (VAS) were completed. The intervention group received education film for home use addition to the routine teaching of hospital. Two months later the patient's quality of life and patient satisfaction were assessed again with the above instruments. The data were analyzed with using statistical SPSS (V.20).

Results: Statistical analysis showed the difference was significant in both groups after the intervention (p=0.003). The quality of life in the intervention group at two months after the discharge in role limitation due to emotional problems, emotional status, social functioning, energy, public health, and the pain had increased. Average satisfaction with the training of the two groups was statistically significant difference (p<0.001).

Conclusion: The results showed that in addition to routine education to provide educational CDs for home use at discharge can improve the quality of life as well as increased satisfaction with training provided to patient’s tracheostomy.

Abstract

Background: Today, occupational health of nurses in the health care system is important. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between death anxiety, sleep quality and job satisfaction of nurses working in Arak university of medical sciences hospitals in 2015.

Materials and Methods: The research method was descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional. The population included nurses in public hospitals affiliated with Arak university of medical sciences. The samples included 309 nurses that were simply and randomly selected. Data were collected with Herzberg job satisfaction, Pittsburgh sleep quality questionnaires and death anxiety scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Results: The results showed that the relationship between job satisfaction with sleep quality of nurses was significant, but there was not a significant relationship between job satisfaction and quality of sleep with death anxiety of nurses. In addition, there was a significant telationship between diffevent parts of hospitals in job satisfaction and death onxiety, although this difference was not significant in quality of sleep. Job satisfaction was the only factor that was significant in the group with the possibility of difficult working conditions.

Conclusion: According to the research findings, it seems that paying attention to sleep quality sleep is important to improve nurses satisfaction. Job satisfaction is also influenced by the hard conditions of work and requires more attention to a group of nurses who are working in such a situation. Also, a higher death anxiety than usual in nurses requires more study and reflection.

Abstract

Background: Considering the high prevalence of sexual dysfunction in females with OCD and its impact on marital satisfaction, the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between sexual function and marital satisfaction in a group of female OCD patients.

Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 36 females with OCD, referred to the clinic of Roozbeh Psychiatric Hospital (related to Tehran University of Medical Sciences) and 3 private offices in Tehran, were selected by random sampling and completed questionnaires including: demographic FSFI, BDI-II, MOCI, OCI-R and researcher-developed marital satisfaction questionnaire.

Results: 80.6% of women reported sexual dysfunction. The results of studying sexual function questionnaire subscales was as following: 50 % low sexual desire, 58.3 % low sexual arousal, 36.1 % decreased lubrication, 44 % orgasmic disorder, 52.8 % sexual pain disorder and 41.7 % sexual dissatisfaction. Furthermore, statistically significant correlation was found between sexual dysfunction (total score and arousal, lubrication, pain and satisfaction subscales) and marital dissatisfaction. Studying the relation between obession(MOCI questionnaire) and marital satisfaction revealed that the correlation between washing subscale of MOCI and marital dissatisfaction was also significant while there were not any significant correlation between obsession (OCJ-R, MOCI) and sexual function (FSFI).

Conclusion: High prevalence of sexual dysfunction in OCD patients, significant relationship between obsession and marital satisfaction, and sexual function and marital satisfaction could demonstrate relationship between sexual function, OCD and marital satisfaction.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Client satisfaction as an important indicator to assess the quality of provided services has found a special place over the past few decades. The main purpose of this study is to compare the client satisfaction in the public health posts and outsourced health posts affiliated to Qom university of medical Sciences in 2014.

Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive analytic (cross- sectional) study.The participants were 216 clients, who had referred to 10 public health posts and outsourced health posts of Qom province. Health posts  were selected by cluster sampling from different urban areas  and participants were selected by simple sampling methods. A researcher made questionnaire was used to measure the data on a 5-point Likert scale, which it's validity and reliability were confirmed by experts panel and Cronbach's alpha coefficient, respectively. After collection, the data were analyzed by SPSS 20, and descriptive statistical methods, Mann-Whitney test, chi-square, with 0.05 significant level.

Results: Among 60 health posts, 20 health posts (33.33%) were outsourced and 40 (66.66%) were managed by the public sector. Results showed that in health centers outsourced , overall satisfaction of the child care and vaccinations and maternity care were respectively, 64.5 and 55.42 and 67.43 percent and in public health posts were respectively, 35.5 and 44.58 and 37.66 percent and this difference was significant. Client satisfaction in the public health posts of the vaccination (57.1%) compared with client satisfaction in the outsourced health posts (47.2%) was higher, also at public health posts, satisfaction of the scientific skill employees (55.1 percent) assigned to the outsourced health posts (44.9%) was even greater, that this difference was significant.

Conclusion: Results of the present study showed that, there is a significant difference in satisfaction of clients in public health posts and outsourced health posts It seems necessary to pay special attention to employee training programs by managers and also considering the results of client satisfaction in performance appraisal of personnel in health care posts.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a disabling disorder that affects one's performance. So, the aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness training on reduction of obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms and increase in marital satisfaction of married women.
Materials and Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest and control group. The statistical population included married women with obsessive compulsive disorder of Tehran city in year 2017. 30 married women with the age range of 20-45 years old were chosen as samples and randomly were divided into two groups of individuals as control and mindfulness training. The experimental groups practiced the mindfulness training for a month, 8 sessions and 60 minutes in each session. Then, post-test was performed for them. For data collecting, the obsessive-compulsive inventory, obsessive-compulsive and marital satisfaction were used. Data analysis was done by using multivariate analysis of covariance by SPSS 24 software at a significant level less than 0.05.
Ethical Considerations: In this study, patients’ consent and providing results were considered as ethical principles.
Findings: Statistical data analysis illustrated that the amounts of marital satisfaction were significantly increased in experimental than control group by mindfulness training (p<0.05). Also, of mindfulness training was significant reduction of obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms (p<0.05).
Conclusion: According the findings of this study, mindfulness training can be a good approach to improve of obsessive compulsive disorder symptoms and marital satisfaction of married women.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Marital and sexual problems of chronic patients, especially diabetes, that often are ignored, need special attention to proper treatment. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on marital satisfaction, sexual self-esteem and burnout martial among women with type 2 diabetes.
Materials and Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental research design with pretest-posttest and control group. The statistical population included women with type 2 diabetes in the city of Tehran. 30 patients were chosen as samples and randomly were divided into two groups of individuals as control and experimental. The experimental groups practiced the acceptance and commitment therapy 8 sessions and 60 minutes in each session. Then, post-test was performed for them. For data collecting, the marital satisfaction scale of Enrich (1993), sexual self-esteem scale of Doyle, Zeanah and Schwarz (1996) and burnout martial questionnaire of Pines (1993) were used. Data analysis was done by using multivariate analysis of multi covariance.
Ethical Considerations: This study with research ethics code IR.KHU.REC.1397.5 has been approved by research ethics committee at Kharazmi university of Tehran, Iran.
Findings: Results illustrated that after acceptance and commitment therapy, amounts of marital satisfaction and sexual self-esteem were significantly increased in experimental than control group (p<0.05). Also, acceptance and commitment therapy decreased burnout martial among women with type 2 diabetes significantly (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Acceptance and commitment therapy can be used as an effective psychological intervention on marital satisfaction, sexual self-esteem and burnout martial among women with type 2 diabetes.

Abstract

Background and Aim: The quality of sexual satisfaction of couples plays an essential role in marital dissatisfaction; therefore, sexual satisfaction training can be effective in reducing this marital problem. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of sexual satisfaction model training on reducing couples’ distress among couples referring to counseling centers.
Methods & Materials: This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest and a control group design. The statistical population of the study included all couples referring to counseling centers in Sanandaj City, in the academic year of 2019-2020. The instruments used in this research were Couple Burnout Measure (CBM). After selecting the sample and randomly forming two groups of 30 experimental and control groups, a pretest was conducted on the study groups. The researcher provided eight 90-minutes training sessions to the experimental group as a model of sexual satisfaction. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS.
Ethical Considerations: This study was approved by Ethics Committee of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences (Code: IR.MUK.REC.1397.5037). 
Results: The current research results revealed a significant difference (P≤0.001) between the experimental and control groups concerning marital boredom (F=35.581) and its dimensions, including physical fatigue (F=25.074), emotional exhaustion (F=39.031), and mental exhaustion (F=35.020); the effect of the educational program was equal to 0.42, 0.31, 0.41, and 0.39, respectively.
Conclusion: The present study findings indicated that sex education model training was effective in reducing couples’ referrals to counseling centers.

Abstract

Background and Aim Old age is a critical period in life. Due to advances in technologies and improvement in healthy conditions, the number of aged population is increasing. Hence, it is necessary to pay attention to their life satisfaction and attitudes towards aging. The present study aims to assess the effectiveness of a psychological empowerment program on life satisfaction and attitude towards aging in older women living in Tehran, Iran.
Methods & Materials The study population consists of all women aged 60-70 years referred to a charity foundation in Tehran, Iran in 2020. Of these, 24 women were selected by a convenience sampling method. They were randomly assigned to the intervention (n=12) and control (n=12) groups. Using a pre-test/post-test design, the elderly first completed the life satisfaction index-Z and the attitude towards aging questionnaire. Then, the experimental group received the psychological empowerment program at 8 sessions. After the intervention, the questionnaires were completed again by both groups. Multivariate analysis of covariance was used to analyze the collected data in SPSS software, version 19. 
Ethical Considerations This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Islamic Azad University of Arak Branch (Code: IR.IAU.ARAK.REC.1400.027).
Results There was a significant difference in life satisfaction (F=9.673, P=0.006) and attitudes towards aging (F=8.385, P=0.009) between the two groups. The psychological empowerment program significantly improved life satisfaction and attitudes towards aging in older women. 
Conclusion The psychological empowerment program is effective in improving life satisfaction and attitude towards aging in older women living in Tehran. It can be used by experts in the fields of counseling, geriatrics, psychology, and health.

Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of family therapy based on family consolidation on marital conflicts and sexual satisfaction of couples applying for divorce.
Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with experimental and control groups. The statistical population of this research included all couples applying for divorce who referred to counseling centers in Kerman city in 2023. 30 couples were selected as available and were replaced in two experimental (15 couples) and control (15 couples) groups randomly and by lottery method. Family therapy intervention based on family consolidation was conducted in 8 sessions twice a week for 90 minutes and after 3 months of follow-up. In order to collect data, Barati and Sanai's Marital Conflict Questionnaire and Larson's Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire were used. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics tests (mean and standard deviation) and analysis of variance with repeated measurements were used with SPSS version 24 software.
Results: The results showed that family therapy based on family consolidation had an effect on reducing marital conflicts (P < 0.001, F = 37.24) and increasing sexual satisfaction (P < 0.001, F = 126.34) of couples applying for divorce (P < 0.001).
Conclusions: According to the results of this research, it is recommended to use family therapy based on family consolidation in reducing marital conflicts and increasing sexual satisfaction of couples applying for divorce.

Abstract

Introduction: Postpartum depression is a type of mood disorder that can affect pregnant women who have given birth and is affected by various factors, so the present study aims to predict postpartum depression based on marital satisfaction, satisfied body, and dysfunctional beliefs in women of Bukan City.
Methods: The present study is descriptive-correlational. The population consisted of all women with pregnancy in the last month in the first half of 2022 in the city of Bukan in the number of 2980 according to Morgan's table and with informed written consent, 340 pregnant women referring to Shahid Qolipur Hospital in Bukan were selected by available sampling method and filled in the questionnaire. Beck-2 depression, Edinburgh postpartum depression, Enrich's marital satisfaction, Body image satisfaction, and Weisman and Beck's dysfunctional beliefs responded. The analysis was done using a stepwise regression method.
Results: Marital satisfaction, physical satisfaction, and dysfunctional beliefs have a significant ability to predict postpartum depression at P < 0.01 level. This effect is inverse in marital and physical satisfaction and positive in dysfunctional beliefs. Also, marital satisfaction, with an effect size of 0.324, physical satisfaction, with an effect size of 0.497, and ineffective beliefs, with an effect size of 0.652, explain the postpartum depression variable. Also, the prevalence of postpartum depression among women in Bukan City is 30.6%, which is higher than the average of the articles recorded in this field.
Conclusions: According to the results of the research, Marital satisfaction, physical satisfaction inversely, and dysfunctional beliefs directly and positively predict postpartum depression in pregnant women.

Abstract

Introduction: The fundamental role of marital satisfaction is vital in family formation and marriage survival. Marital dissatisfaction can make couples fail to solve their conflicts. Marital discontent, combined with job-related stress such as pre-hospital emergencies, can lead to heightened conflict in job responsibilities. It leads to the effect on personnel, patients, and their families. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the marital satisfaction of pre-hospital emergency personnel at Qom University of Medical Sciences in 2023.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 200 pre-hospital personnel of Qom University of Medical Sciences in May 2023. The sampling method was a stratified cluster. The data collection tool included the "Demographic Information" checklist and Enrich's "Marital Satisfaction" questionnaire. Data analysis was done using descriptive tests, Independent T-test, and Regression.
Results: The average age of the participants was 37.3 ± 7.06. More than half of the participants had a bachelor's degree. Most people had rotating shifts. The average score of marital satisfaction was 145.94 ± 22.21. Based on the results of the multivariate regression test, the variables of education, employment status, work experience, type of shift, having a second job, and having a job other than medical staff explain 63% of the variance of marital satisfaction of pre-hospital personnel.
Conclusions: According to the findings of the present study, in general, the marital satisfaction of pre-hospital emergency personnel of Qom University of Medical Sciences is at an average to high level. People with a fixed shift, with a second job, high work experience, without a fixed job status, and bachelor's and associate's degrees had less marital satisfaction than others. Therefore, managers and policymakers in the health field must pay more attention to the quality of family life, especially the married life of pre-hospital emergency workers with the mentioned conditions.

Abstract

Introduction: The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of schema therapy on marital satisfaction and mental health of women undergoing hysterectomy surgery.
Methods: This research was applied in terms of objective and quantitative research, and in terms of data collection method, it was semi-experimental research with two experimental and control groups with pre-test and post-test. The statistical population consisted of all women aged 30 to 50 who underwent hysterectomy surgery in 2023 in Yazd city. In this study,
30 eligible subjects were selected by the available method, and the participants were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). For the experimental group, the treatment plan was implemented in 10 sessions of 50 minutes. Goldberg's mental health questionnaire and Inrich's marital satisfaction questionnaire were used to measure the research variables
.

Results: The findings from the analysis of the covariance test showed the use of the schema therapy approach increased the marital satisfaction and mental health of women undergoing hysterectomy surgery (p ≤ 0.001).
Conclusions: Therefore, the use of schema therapy sessions in medical centers for people who underwent hysterectomy surgery is suggested to reduce marital problems.

Abstract

Introduction: The growing increase in the elderly population requires more research to identify the health priorities of this group, especially in critical situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the current study was conducted to determine the influential components of marital satisfaction and its relationship with lifestyle in Urmia City in 2021.
Methods: In this descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional correlational study, 220 married elderly living in Urmia were selected through cluster sampling. The Miler's life satisfaction and Haynes's marital satisfaction questionnaires were used in addition to the demographic questionnaire to collect data in this research. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical tests (mean and standard deviation, frequency, and percentage) and analytical (Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression) at a significant level of P ≤ 0.05.
Results: A step-by-step multiple linear regression model also revealed that variables of lifestyle (ß = -0.364), age (ß = 0.425), number of children (ß = 0.143), occupation (ß = 0.425) and illness (ß = 3.608) - had the most considerable contribution in the sensitive prediction of marital satisfaction. The regression model excluded other demographic variables.
Conclusions: This study showed that lifestyle and demographic variables such as age, number of children, occupation, and illness have the greatest contribution in predicting marital satisfaction. Therefore, it seems necessary to design counseling services in comprehensive health centers for this group so that counselors can teach healthy lifestyles to older adults to improve marital relationships.
