Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to evaluting of salivary estriollevel in hospitalized women with diagnosis of preterm labor.
Materials and Methods: This was an analytic observationat investigation. During this study, salivary estriol specimens were obtained from 43 women at 24 to 34 weeks 6 days gestational age with symptoms of preterm lab or .We compared maternal salivary estriollevels between case group with preterm labor.
Results: This study showed that the mean of salivary estriollevels in 31, 32, 33, 34 weeks in case group were higher than control group. Reciever-operator curve showed that exceeding a 0.1875 ng/ml salivary estriollevel was associated with occurrence of preterm delivery.
Conclusion: This study showed a wide range of salivary estriollevels in different pregnants and this distinction became more extent with lengthening gestation. Detection of increased estriollevel may be clinically helpful in defining at risk woman for preterm birth.

Abstract
Introduction: Hidden hepatitis B is a condition in which the surface antigen of hepatitis B in the patient's serum is negative but the DNA of the hepatitis B virus is detected in the serum or liver tissue. In this study, the prevalence of latent hepatitis B in chronic hepatitis C patients and their biochemical and histological changes were investigated.
method: In this descriptive study, target sampling was performed so that 27 chronic hepatitis C patients whose HBsAg was negative and during 2001 and 2002 to two hepatitis centers of Tehran and Research Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases of Shahid University of Medical Sciences Beheshti came in and underwent liver sampling. On the hepatic paraffinic block of these patients, polymerase chain reaction tests were performed for the presence of HBVDNA, as well as immunohistochemical tests for the presence and detection of HBsAg and central hepatitis B antigen.
Results: Of the 27 PCR samples examined, patients reported positive HBVDNA in 5 cases (19%). In all of these patients, IHC tests were reported to be negative for HBsAg and HBcAg. Histological changes of cirrhosis and irreversible cirrhosis symptoms were seen only in the HBVDNA group.
Conclusion: The prevalence of latent hepatitis B is relatively high in patients with hepatitis C. In these patients, latent hepatitis B can exacerbate liver damage and accelerate the progression of cirrhosis.

Abstract
Introduction: Diagnosing parturients in risk of cesarean section early in the beginning of active phase of labor, is very important. This may let take necessary action to accelernate labor (delivery) and prevent maternal mortality and morbidity due to late cesarean section. Materials and Methods: During a period of 8 months from July 2004 to March 2005, 216 primiparous women, with term pregnancy and cephalic single fetus, referred to Imam Reza hospital in (during) active phase of labor, were studied. Changes of cervical dilatation and descent of the conceptus were observed. Parturients were devided to two groups, vaginal delivery and cesurean section. Protraction or arrest disorders were the indications of cesarean deliveries. Findings were analysed through using T-Test, unilateral variance and Chi square test. Results: The more changes in cervical dilatation in the first 2 hours of active phase of labor, the less possibility of cesarean delivery (p<0.001). Also the more rate of the conceptus descent in the first 2 hours of active phase of labor, the less rate of cesarean section (p<0.001). There was no significant statistical relationship between condition of membranes at the onset of active labor and method of delivery, however there was a significant relationship between oxytocin augmentation and method of delivery (p<0.001). Conclusion: In primiparous women with term pregnancy, vaginal delivery would be fairly predictable by observing changes of cervical dilatation and conceptus descent during the first 2 hours of active phase of labor.

Abstract
Background: There has been an increase in the number of women willing to have a caesarean birth because of their fear of childbirth. It seems the childbirth preparation educational class is a good way to remove or alleviate fears associated with pregnancy and childbirth.This research designed to identify the effect of childbirth preparation classes on childbirth fear on the primiparous women. Methods and Materials: The present study is a clinical trial which was carried out in 2007 at Milad Hospital, with 100 nulliparous pregnant women. Childbirth fear was measured by childbirth attitudes questionnaire. Normal pregnant women in the second trimester with childbirth fear score was 28 or more were randomly selected and dirided into experimental and control group with 50 subject in each qroup. The experimental group attended nine childbirth preparation class sessions and control group received routine antennal care. Results: The mean scored fear of childbirth in case and control group were 39.35±6.96 and 40.71±6.23 respectively. There was not significant difference between two groups. After the sessions, comparing childbirth fear score between two groups in third trimester showed the mean score of childbirth fear among experimental group was lower than control group (29.82+/- 7.18 compare to 38.03+/-9.27), and the differences statistically was significant (p<0.001). Mode of delivery was significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: Primiparous women attended childbirth preparation classes acquired lower score of childbirth fear in compare to women received routine prenatal care. The results of this research showed relaxation training decreased childbirth fear and increased normal vaginal delivery.

Abstract
Background: Hydatid cyst, a parasite disease, can involve liver more than other organs. The most serious complication of the cyst is rupture which may spread out to biliary duct, hollow organ, or abdominal cavity directly. Elective treatment is emergent surgery. Case: A 28 rural woman referring with abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting due to car accident. Abnormal findings consisted of: abdominal distention, reduction of bowel sounds, tenderness and generalized guarding and hive lesions in the anterior chest wall, upper abdomen, and both forearms. In sonography, a lot of free liquid in abdominal and pelvic cavity, and three hetroechoic masses in the right lobe of the liver were reported. Four days after abdominal surgery the patient was discharged with Albendazole order. Conclusion: Intra-abdominal rupture of hydatid cyst is the most serious that due to trauma complication and elective treatment is emergency surgery.

Abstract
Background: Primary dysmenorrhea is one of the most prevalent disorders in women which results in their decreased efficacy. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of pressure on the third liver point on involved liver channel symptoms in patients with primary dysmenorrhea. Materials and Methods: This clinical trial was conducted on 194 students that met the inclusion criteria. In the first cycle, symptoms of involved liver channel were identified. Accordingly, participants were randomly allotted to either treatment or control groups. In the second, third and fourth cycles, acupressure was applied to the third liver point and placebo point for 20 minutes 3-7 days before menstruation. With bleeding in the fourth cycle, the symptoms of involved liver channel were determined. Results: In the first cycle, there were no significant differences in symptoms of involved liver channel between the two groups however, in the fourth cycle, the results of Chi2 test showed significant differences between the two groups in all symptoms of involved liver channel except the tongue with red spots (p<0.05). In the treatment group, a comparison of the first and the fourth cycle revealed significant differences in all symptoms of involved liver channel except for tongue with red spots (p<0.05). Conclusion: In this study, applying pressure to the third liver point was effective in the improvement of the majority of involved liver channel symptoms therefore, acupressure is suggested as a practical, effective, non-expensive, and available method in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.

Abstract
Background: Every year over 150 million pregnancies occur in developing countries however, delivery is not satisfactory for some mothers and, in fact, it is a painful and frightening experience. One solution for pain relief is using En2nox gas. Because of opposite stances of people and society on En2onox, this study was done to highlight the real experiences of people and describe mothers' experiences of pain relief using En2nox. Materials and Methods: In this qualitative, phenomenological study, deep interview is conducted with 30 pregnant women who chose painless delivery using En2nox at Taamin Ejtemaee Hospital. Data analysis was done via Collaizzi method. Validity and reliability were obtained noticing such measures as real value, applicability, continuity, and authenticity. Results: The reasons for choosing En2nox were being easy-to-use and having minimal side effects. Most mothers had a positive attitude towards self-administration of the method and their main satisfaction was with the reduction in pain without severe side effects following withdrawal from usage of the method. The mothers’ major complaint was with dizziness following the method. Conclusion: Based on the mothers’ positive experience of En2nox painless delivery, using this method with the aim of decreasing labor pain and elective cesarean is recommended. Furthermore, the use of this type of analgesia at other centers, with larger sample sizes, and in comparison with other analgesia methods is recommended.

Abstract
Background: Molybdenum is an essential trace element for both animals and plants. Molybdenum (Mo), which functions as a cofactor for a limited number of enzymes including xanthine dehyrogenase, aldehyde oxidase, and sulfite oxidase in mammals, is believed to be an essential trace element in animal nutrition. The aim of this study is to evaluate the hepatoprotective potential of sodium molybdate against carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced liver damage. Materials and Methods: In an experimental study, adult male rats received daily oral administrations of different doses of sodium molybdate (0.05, 0.1, and 0.2 g/kg bw) along with intrapertioneal CCl4 (50% CCl4 in olive oil, 1 ml/kg bw) twice a week for 28 consecutive days. Results: Histopathological examinations in CCl4-treated rats showed extensive liver injuries characterized by extensive hepatocellular degeneration and necrosis, fat degeneration, and inflammatory cell infiltration while histopathological changes induced by CCl4 were significantly attenuated by sodium molybdate treatment. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that sodium molybdate could protect liver against the CCl4-induced oxidative damage in rats, and this hepatoprotective effect might be contributed to the protection of liver by preventing the toxic chemical reactions which generate oxidative stress, lipid peroxidation, and molecular changes which ultimately lead to liver tissue necrosis.

Abstract
Background: Multiple sclerosis, an immune-mediated demyelinating disorder, is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system. Two-thirds of patients with multiple sclerosis are women in their child bearing age, 20s and 30s. Multiple sclerosis is followed by neurological disability in young people. The purpose of this study was to determine pregnancy outcomes in patients with multiple sclerosis and compare them with healthy pregnant women. Materials and Methods: In this cohort study,37 pregnant women with multiple sclerosis and 73 healthy pregnant women were compared in terms of pregnancy, child birth, and infant variables. Patient information was collected through questionnaires and evaluated using independent t-test, Chi-square, and Mann-Whitney test. Results: The results showed that pregnancy complications like preeclampsia and gestational symptoms in women with multiple sclerosis were higher than the control group (p=0.001). Instrumental delivery was more in women with multiple sclerosis (p=0.05) and there was not a significant difference between the two groups in terms of neonatal outcomes. Conclusion: The resultsof this study show that some of the complications of pregnancy are higher in women with multiple sclerosis. Also, normal delivery and instrumental vaginal delivery were more in women with multiple sclerosis that couldbe due to fatigue in this population. Hence, these findings should be taken into consideration in planning andmanaging pregnant patients.

Abstract
Background:Noticing the side effects associated with chemical drugs, using natural medicinal plants has gained more prominence recently. Physalis alkekengi extract is a medicinal plant belonging to Solanaceae family which similar to most drugs used in traditional medicine, despite possessing a multitude of medicinal properties, has not received sufficient attention. The aim of the present study was to briefly review the effects of Physalis alkekengi extract on the concentration of thyroid hormones, blood cholesterol, some plasma biochemical factors, liver function, immune system, and sexual hormones. Due to the extensive usage of Physalis alkekengi extract in traditional medicine, determining its advantages and possible side effects is of great physiologic and pharmacologic significance. Physalis alkekengi extract due to the presence of such effective substances as alkaloids, lycopene, glucocorticoids, alcoholic agents, and a large amount of vitamin C as well as antioxidant properties can play a significant role in changes in body homeostasis. This study dealt with the function and effect of Physalis alkekengi extract on different body organs through using proper keywords and extensive online search through electronic databases and credible sources. The results of this mini-review showed that Physalis alkekengi extract can bring about various significant changes in different body organs that have not been properly recognized. Therefore, further and more extensive studies should be done on this plant.

Abstract
Background: Saffron (Crocus Sativus) petals consist of, glycosides, flavonoids, and anthocyanins. Due to the increasing use of medicinal plants in treatment of diseases and identifying their side effects on various organs, this study is to evaluate the effects of Crocus Sativus petals on biochemical blood parameters in male rats.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 30 male Wistar rats with the mean body weight of 215±15 g were randomly assigned into five groups of 6 animals each. Control group received normal saline (10 ml/kg) and treatment groups received 75, 150, 220 and 450 mg/kg body weight of saffron petals extract, for 14 days. Body weight measured in days 0, 7, and 14. At the end of experiment, serum levels of liver function marker enzymes such as AST and ALT, total proteins, albumin, creatinine, cholesterol and triglyceride were assessed.
Results: Compared to control group, ethanol extract of saffron petals significantly increased serum albumin and also significantly decreased levels of serum cholesterol and AST (p<0.05). No significant changes were observed on serum total proteins, creatinine, ALT, triglyceride levels and body weight in control and saffron groups (p>0.05).
Conclusion: Increase in levels of albumin and decrease in liver enzymes may indicate the lack of liver damage. Reduction in cholesterol which is probably due to flavonoid extracts of saffron and no effect on body weight can be beneficial in the use of saffron petals.

Abstract
Background: Gene therapy is a recent promising treatment that effective gene transfer is considered as its most important step. Furthermore noninvasive method of transfer will be important to, when gene therapy is supposed to be applied. Administration of drugs in oral rout is more appreciated by patients. Loading and release rates are very important in targeting and effectiveness of transfer in all different methods that have been used for oral drug transfer. Here, we have studied packing of gene particles into two different enteric coats and compared these two coats in loading of entrapped materials and there release rate in vitro.
Materials and Methods: First, DNA was mixed with chitosan by coacervation technique and resulted polyplexes were coated using solvent evaporation technique. FTIR and two different pHs, less and more but near eudragit pKa, were used to evaluate formation of particles and their behavior.
Results: Formed particles have similar stability in low pH and their differences are trivial. Eudragit L100 release rate is really slower than L100-55 and gradual. Eudragit L100 shows better ability in loading rate.
Conclusion: According to two formed particles' behavior, eudragit L100-55 might be used in oral gene transfer targeting of initial part of small intestine and eudragit L100 might be used for wider surface of small intestine, from the initial to the end part, and colon.

Abstract
Background: Aflatoxins are known as the most important toxins which their consumption could cause acute poisoning and create carcinogenic effects. Moreover, previous studies demonstrated the ability of lactic acid bacteria to connect to aflatoxin in food material. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the native probiotic Lactobacillus para casei strains TD3 against toxicity induced by aflatoxin B1 in vivo.
Materials and Methods: 24 wistar male rats (250±10 g) were divided into 3 groups including: one negative control group and two groups treated with aflatoxin (170 µg/kg) and Lactobacillus para casei strain TD3 isolated from Tarkhine with aflatoxin (109 cfu/day) for 4 weeks. At the end of the experiment, the blood and tissue samples were collected for histopathological and biochemical studies.
Results: The results indicated that treatment with Aflatoxin leads to a significant increase in the amount of liver enzymes such as AST, ALP and also liver damages. Furthermore, the group that received Lactobacillus para casei strain TD3, the level of these enzymes was reduced and liver damages due to aflatoxin were improved.
Conclusion: The present study showed that aflatoxin can lead to liver damages and native Lactobacillus para casei strain TD3 which isolated from Tarkhine, probably leads to protective effects by binding to aflatoxin. Thus, it is considered as a biologic agent to remove aflatoxin in vivo.

Abstract
Background: Childbirth is a stressful event that requires a mental adjustment. Optimism is one of the important determinants of psychological adjustment which is a combination of interest and positive attitude. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of optimism training during pregnancy on attitude and intentions to choose the mode of delivery in nulliparous women.
Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial , 64 primipar pregnant women with normal pregnancies, 34-30 weeks, without indication for cesarean section referring to the health centers in Mashhad in 2014 were selected and were randomly divided into two groups , A (trained) and B (no training). Optimism training during 5 session of the 60-minute, with the group participation of participants and active exercises was conducted. Data were analyzed with using the software SPSS and statistical tests including variance analysis, Fischer exact test, willcoxon, Square-Chi and paired t-test.
Results: Average attitude score towards c/s delivery in the study group, before and after training has a significant difference (p<0.001). Average attitude score towards natural childbirth was significantly higher in intervention group compared to the control group (p<0.002). Frequency of intentions to choose the mode of delivery in the study group, before and after training has a significant difference (p<0.033).
Conclusion: Reults showed that optimism training in creating a positive attitude towards natural childbirth and thus reducing the rate of elective c/s delivery is effective.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Medicinal plants possessing antioxidant activity may reduce oxidative stress and improve the functions of various organs that affected by hyperglycemia. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of saffron aqueous extract (SAE) administration to diabetic rats by measuring the oxidative stress parameters and important biochemical enzymes in liver tissue.
Materials and Methods: 72 hours after STZ administration (60 mg/kg body weight), the animals with fasting blood glucose over of 250 mg/dl were considered to be diabetic rats and experimental groups were: control (1), control drug (2), diabetes (3) and diabetes drug (4). The treatment was started on the 7th day after STZ injection with i.p injection of SAE (200mg/kg body weight), five doses and weekly to groups 2 and 4. At the end of the experimental period, biochemical factors were measured after bleeding and harvesting of tissues.
Findings: Results indicated the perturbation in the activity of important liver enzymes in diabetic group (3) and SAE adjusted and normalized their levels activity. In addition, SAE with increases in the activity of antioxidant enzymes alleviated diabetes induced oxidative stress and thus reduced MDA levels in group 4 compared to group 3.
Conclusion: SAE is not only useful in the controlling of blood glucose, but also has antioxidant potential to protect the liver tissue of diabetic rats against damage caused by hyperglycemia-induced oxidative stress.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Recent findings in cell therapy have presented new perspectives and opportunities for the treatment of neurodegenerative disease. The experimental research with intranasal (IN) administration of Stem Cells in Parkinson’s disease (PD) mouse model can work and in some cases induce major, long-lasting improvement. Adult Human endometrial derived stem cells (HEDSCs), a readily obtainable type of mesenchymal stem-like cell were used to generate dopaminergic cells and for cell therapy. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effects of IN-delivered HEDSCs in mice model of Parkinson.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental research, 35 male mouse weighting 25-30 g were divided into 5 groups. On day 120 post cell administration, the rotational behavior was measured. Immunohistochemistry staining was used to detect HEDSCs in mice brain.
Findings: IN application of HEDSCs resulted in the appearance of cells in the substantia nigra (SN) and decrease in the rotational behavior of case group.
Conclusion: HEDSCs are a highly inducible source of allogenic stem cells that improve Parkinson’s disease.

Abstract
Background and Aim Among the plants with multiple healing properties and a long and common history of use in Iranian traditional medicine, is dog-rose plant with the scientific name of “Rosa canina” that belongs to the Rosaceae family. This study aimed to review the effectiveness of Rosa canina in treatment of different body organs and tissues and emphasizes its therapeutic mechanism.
Methods & Materials This is a review study. About 176 papers published from 2010 to 2018 were extracted from PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Google Scholar, Ovid, MagIran, and SID databases using related keywords and entered into study.
Ethical Considerations Ethical issues (including plagiarism, misconduct, data fabrication, falsification, double publication or submission, redundancy) have been completely observed by the authors.
Results Different studies had indicated the importance of Rosa canina as a medicinal plant protecting liver, lowering glucose and lipid levels, and having antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The highest flavonoid activity in the Rosaceae family is related to Rosa canina. The use of herbal extracts in the treatment of common diseases, such as diabetes, fatty liver, urinary tract and Alzheimer's, has been recommended.
Conclusion High qualitative and quantitative diversity of effective ingredients, ease of access, absence of adverse effects of consumption and endemic nature of Rosa canina plant make it necessary to use it for the control and treatment of common human diseases.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Sicne in many dosimetry calculations, the water and soft tissue phantoms are used, this study aimed to investigate the difference of these two phantoms with a phantom consisted of realistic liver materials in proton therapy for liver cancer.
Methods & Materials: Three phantoms with different materials of water, soft tissue and realistic liver materials were used for the study. A spherical tumor with 2 cm radius was considered in the liver. The Spread-out Bragg Peaks (SOBPs) were measured to cover the complete tumor for the three phantoms. Dose distribution and deposited dose ratio in tumor and surrounding organs were calculated using Monte Carlo N-Particle Extended (MCNPX) code.
Ethical Considerations: The best proton energy interval to complete the coverage of tumor in the liver for phantoms with realistic and soft tissue materials was 90-120 MeV and for water phantom, it was 88-116 MeV. The shift of the Bragg peaks depth per energy in the water phantom mm relative to two other phantoms was about 4.5. The dose parameters were evaluated according to the International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements (ICRU), and the results showed no any significant difference between them. The dose distribution in the tumor and surrounding organs showed that for all three phantoms, the dose distribution around the tumor was negligible.
Results: The use of soft tissue phantom has more acceptable results than water phantom in simulating treatment and can be replaced with realistic liver tissue. More realistic phantoms should be used in treatment plan.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a type of accumulation of fat in the liver cells. Moreover, portulaca oleracea has hypolipidemic properties. Accordingly, the present study aimed to investigate the effect of a combination of training and portulaca oleracea supplementation on plasma lipid profile and liver ultrasound in obese women with nonalcoholic fatty liver.
Methods & Materials: The study population consisted of 40 to 60-year-old obese women with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. In total, 40 obese women with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease were randomly selected and divided into 4 groups. The study groups included training (n=10), training + supplementation (n=10), placebo (n=10) and supplementation (n=10). Before and after the intervention, sonography of the liver and blood tests were performed. The Paired Samples t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze the obtained data. The significance level was set at P<0.05.
Ethical Considerations: This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Islamic Azad University, Rasht Branch, Iran (code: IR. IAU.RASHT.REC. 1397. 034). Moreover, it was registered at the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (IRCT) (code: IRCT201903090429871).
Results: The obtained data suggested that 12 weeks of portulaca oleracea supplementation and combination training significantly decreased the plasma concentrations of cholesterol (P=0.001), triglyceride (P=0.00), LDL (P=0.00), and significantly increased serum HDL levels (P=0.00) in the exercise + supplement, supplement, and exercise groups (P<0.05). Liver ultrasound data also improved in the exercise + supplement (P=0.02), and exercise (P=0.00) groups.
Conclusion: Portulaca oleracea supplementation with combination exercises could be effective in reducing plasma lipids and improving liver ultrasound in obese women with nonalcoholic fatty liver.

Abstract
Background and Aim Acanthamoeba is one of free-living amoebas, which are very abundant in nature. As a free-living amoeba, this parasite has a very high lethality, especially in people with underlying diseases, so researchers are always looking for a way to combat it. Drug plants are a good way to fight Acanthamoeba species. In this study, we aimed to investigate the lethal effect of the extract of Oliveria decumbens vent and Peganum harmala alcoholic extract on Acanthamoeba.
Methods & Materials In this study using the extract from an extract of Oliveria decumbens vent and Peganum harmala with concentrations of 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 mg/ml to investigate the lethal effect of this extract. The plant was treated with Acanthamoeba amoebae after three times (24, 48, and 72) hours.
Ethical Considerations This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Jahrom University of Medical Sciences (Code: IR.JUMS.REC.1398.029).
Results The present research showed that using different concentrations at three times (24, 48, and 72) hours the effect of the extract on trophozoites and cysts of Acanthamoeba was shown. The highest lethality is related to the concentration of 20 mg/ml using a combination of both extracts at the time 72 hours and the lowest lethality is related to the concentration of 1.25 mg/ml of Oliveria decumbens vent at the time 24 hours.
Conclusion Observations indicate that the alcoholic extract of Oliveria decumbens vent and Peganum harmala had a perfect effect both separately and in a combination of both extracts. These two extracts had a synergistic effect on the lethal effect of Acanthamoeba amoeba.
