Abstract
Background and Aim: Hypercholesterolemia is an independent risk factor for atherosclerosis that the use of medicinal plants with minimal side effects is very important in the treatment of it. In this study, comparative evaluation of the effect of hydroalcoholic extract and quercetin of Otostegia persica Boiss with atorvastatin on ABC A1 gene expression in hypercholesterolemic male Wistar rats was carried out.
Materials and Methods: Forty male wistar rats with about 180gr weight randomly individed into five groups of eight: 3 experimental groups, 1 sham group and 1 control group. The experimental and sham groups received a high-fat diet with 2% cholesterol (through gavage) for 40 days. The experimental groups were treated (were fed) separately with 40 mg/kg/day atorvastatin, 25 mg/kg/day quercetin and 25 mg/kg/day hydroalcoholic extract of Otostegia persica Boiss for 28 days. Sham group received daily 1 mg/kg saline water during this period. In the end, the expression of ABC A1 gene was determined by Real-Time PCR in leukocytes and serum lipids were measured by photometric method.
Ethical Considerations: This study with research ethics code B/29/5/1/1799 has been approved by committee for ethics in biomedical research at Kashan university of medical sciensec on July 31, 2016.
Findings: The hydroalcoholic extract and quercetin of Otostegia persica Boiss and atorvastatin significantly increased ABC A1 gene expression in three experimental groups {(1.14 ± 0.09) ,(1.18 ± 0.03),(1.11 ± 0.03) respectively} realated to control group(1.00 ± 0.011) (p<0.05) and sham group(0.89 ± 0.03) (p<0.05). Quercetin also was more effective than atorvastatin in increasing of ABC A1 gene expression (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Quercetin and hydroalcoholic extract of Otostegia persica Boiss have increased effect on ABC A1 gene expression in hypercholesterolemic male Wistar rats.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Lung cancer is one of the most contagious cancers in all of the world. Recently, several potential oncogenes and carcinogens have been identified, including EGFR, BRAF, KRAS and ALK genes. With due attention to the high prevalence of lung cancer, its death rate, the complications of chemotherapy and the efforts to find effective and less effective drugs, this study was done to investigate the effect of a plant extract so that results are available to manufacturing centers.
Materials and Methods: In this study, the effect of Eucalyptus extract and cisplatin on the expression of KRAS gene in A549 lung cancer cell line was investigated. To determine the cell survival, MTT was used and IC50 was determined. After determining IC50, the cells were exposed to less than IC50 concentrations of the extract and drug for 48 hours. Then, the amount of β-ACTIN and KRAS genes expressions in control and extract treated and drug treated groups were determined. For this purpose, a specific primers were designed for β- ACTIN and KRAS, and Real-Time PCR was be done.
Ethical Considerations: This study with research ethics code IR.IAU.East Tehran.REC.1396.3 has been approved by research ethics committee at Islamic Azad University, Tehran- East Branch, Iran.
Findings: The results showed that the amount of IC50 of the extract and drug was 8.75 and 1.77 mg/ml, respectively. In addition, the expression of genes in control and treated cells with extract and drug was compared. The expression of the KRAS gene relative to the reference gene in the cancer cell line treated with extract and drug, for 48 hours, was significantly decreased 2.89 and 9.25, respectively (p = 0).
Conclusion: Regarding the reduction of the relative gene expression in the A549 treated group, future studies on targeted lung cancer treatment can be promising and the potential for the use of plant compounds is more evident.

Abstract
Background and Aim There is a high correlation between depression and anxiety in children which are also related to laterality. This study aimed to compare generalized anxiety and social anxiety in sinistral and dextral children with depression symptoms.
Methods & Materials This is a cross-sectional study with a causal-comparative design. The study population consisted of all primary students (fourth to sixth grade) of Arak Province in Iran. A convenience sampling method was used to select study samples. Prior to study, following questionnaires were completed: Children's Depression Inventory, Brief Scale of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale for Children and Adolescents. Then, those with depression score of 19 and higher were assigned into two groups of sinistral (n=31) and dextral (n=35), and compared in terms of generalized anxiety and social anxiety.
Ethical Considerations This study obtained its ethical approval form the Research Ethics Committee of Arak University of Medical Sciences (code: IR.ARAKMU.REC.1397.298).
Results The results of multivariate analysis of variance showed a significant difference in two study varia-bles between groups (P=0.001). Moreover, based on the results of univariate analysis of variance, sinistral children had higher generalized anxiety compared to dextral children; however, they were not significantly different in terms of social anxiety.
Conclusion Considering the higher vulnerability of depressed sinistral children to anxiety disorders, they are more likely to need specific ways of preventing and treating depression and generalized anxiety disorder.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Postoperative shivering is a common complication after recovering from anesthesia, and due to its subsequent side effects, its prevention and treatment is of special importance for anesthetists. In this study, the efficacy and onset of action of meperidine (which is a potential cause of hemodynamic and respiratory complications) in treatment of post-anesthesia shivering are compared with those of ondansetron.
Methods & Materials: In this clinical trial study, patients with post-anesthetic shivering during recovery were randomly divided into two groups of meperidine (n=27) and ondansetron (n=29). Their shivering scores were recorded every minute for up to 10 minutes. After this time, if patients did not improve, meperidine was used in both groups to treat shivering.
Ethical Considerations The study obtained its ethical approval from the Research Ethics Committee of Iran University of Medical Sciences and has been registered in Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (IRCT201109224969N3).
Results: The number of patients completely treated at 10 minutes was higher in the meperidine group (P= 0.05), and the decrease in mean shivering score occurred faster in meperidine group (P= 0.047)
Conclusion: Although ondansetron has been shown to be effective in treatment of postoperative shivering, the effectiveness and onset of action of meperidine was clearly better.

Abstract
Background and Aim: This study aimed to investigate the association between Endoplasmic Reticulum autophagy (ER-phagy) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) by analyzing the expression patterns of related genes in animal models.
Methods & Materials: Microarray data of AD patients’ brain tissues were extracted from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. These data were first analyzed in GEO2R online tool. Then, the expression of ER-phagy related genes were isolated and the protein interaction networks were plotted by STRING database for the genes with increased expression. Finally, the relationship between the genes that had significant increased expression were designed, and the expression of new identified genes in each study was examined.
Ethical Considerations: All ethical principles were considered in this article.
Results: Genes involved in ER-phagy showed a sporadic expression in different AD models. An increase in the expression of ER-phagy regulatory 1 (FAM134B) gene was observed in studies with the mutation in both Microtubule-associated Protein Tau (MAPT) and Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) genes. Increase in the expression of NPC intracellular cholesterol transporter 1 (NPC1) gene was observed in two studies that had mutations in APP, Presenilin 1 (PSEN1) and MAPT genes. Moreover, SEC62 homolog and Cell Cycle Progression 1 (CCPG1) genes both showed decreased expression in one study. Finally, the expression of Reticulon 3 (RTN3) was not significant in any of the studies.
Conclusion: The genes involved in ER-phagy have a sporadic expression in AD models, where only two genes FAM134B and NPC1 are involved in AD. The FAM134B gene seems to interact with the Wnk1 gene, which plays a role in cell survival and proliferation, in the hippocampus and forebrain. It also interacts with the Map1lc3b gene, which has a role in phagosome deletion and protein ubiquitination, in the forebrain. It also interacts with the Map1lc3b gene, which has a role in phagosome deletion and protein ubiquitination, in the forebrain. NPC1 had interaction with the Abcg1 gene, which activates lipid homeostasis, in the subventricular zone.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause disease in humans and animals. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by a new coronavirus. The World Health Organization has declared this infectious disease as a global pandemic.
Objective: This study aims to review the latest research advances in genetics, pathogenicity, and clinical features of COVID-19, as well as current therapies to combat this disease.
Methods & Materials: This is a systematic review study on articles published from 2010 to 2020 by searching in reputable databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect.
Ethical Considerations: Ethical principles have been observed in accordance with the guidelines of the National Ethics Committee and the COPE regulations.
Results: Examining the genome and genetic studies of the virus, it can be said that there are many similarities between different coronavirus types, but there are differences in their genomic and phenotypic structures that can affect their pathogenesis. Re-use of existing therapeutic drugs, previously designed for other infections and viral pathologies is currently the only practical approach to fight COVID-19. The tests for SARS-CoV-2 genome-specific vaccines and the therapeutic antibodies are currently being tested, but they require a long-term process and complete safety testing.
Conclusion: Rapid diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection is the basis of disease control. There is currently no specific antiviral drug approved for SARS-CoV-2 infection. Therefore, preventive measures are necessary to stop and control the spread of COVID-19, according to genetic studies and the obtaining knowledge of the molecular mechanism of this virus.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Angiogenesis is the process of forming new blood vessels from the old ones; it plays an important role in physiological conditions, such as growth, wound healing, and reproduction. This process also plays a vital role in pathological phenomena and the occurrence of various diseases, especially tumor growth and metastasis. The present study evaluated the anti-angiogenic effects of nanoemulsion synthesized from Anethum graveolens essential oil using the CAM method.
Methods & Materials: To investigate the anti-angiogenic effects on the second day of incubation, a window was opened on the eggs. Subsequently, on the eighth day, a gelatin sponge with nanoemulsion with different doses (12.5, 25, and 50 μg/mL) was inserted on the chorioallantoic membrane. On the 12th day of incubation, a research stereomicroscope was used to evaluate the rate of angiogenesis and imaging of the treated area. Vascular factors were examined by Image J software.
Ethical Considerations: This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Mashhad Branch, Islamic Azad University (Code: IR.IAU.MSHD.REC.1398.027).
Results: The obtained results concerning the effect of nanoemulsion on the rate of angiogenesis in the CAM test indicated a decrease in the length and number of vessels of the chorioallantoic membrane in the treated samples, compared to the controls. Moreover, there was a reduction in the height and weight of treated fetuses, compared to the untreated fetuses (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The anti-angiogenic activity of nanoemulsion synthesized from Anethum graveolens essential oil indicated the possible use of this substance for diseases, like cancer, in which the formation of blood vessels is inhibited. Therefore, Anethum graveolens nanoemulsion can be suggested as an agent for further cancer studies.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Non-syndromic hearing loss is a genetically heterogeneous disorder. Mutation in the GJB2 gene is a major cause of non-syndromic hearing loss in numerous countries. This study aimed to evaluate GJB2 mutations in 31 individuals with non-syndromic hearing loss
Methods & Materials: In this descriptive cross-sectional study, the required blood samples were collected from 31 individuals with non-syndromic hearing loss in Rasht and Bandar Anzali Cities, Gilan Province, Iran. After DNA isolation, the GJB2 gene was amplified by the PCR method and underwent sequencing.
Ethical Considerations:This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Islamic Azad University, Mashhad Branch (Code: IR.IAU.MSHD.REC.1398.027).
Results: In this study, 3 mutations were determined in 18 individuals with hearing loss. Accordingly, 35delG mutation had the highest frequency (48.38%) in individuals with hearing loss as homozygote (n=14) and heterozygote (n=2). A patient with heterozygosity in V153I mutation and a patient with compound heterozygosity in 35delG/G200R mutation was determined.
Conclusion: It appears that 35delG mutation is a common mutation in the GJB2 gene in individuals with non-syndromic hearing loss in Guilan Province.

Abstract
Background and Aim: The protein encoded by the SGO1 gene is a member of the shugoshin family of proteins and protects the centromere during mitosis. lncRNAs are non-coding RNA with 200 nucleotides lengths, i.e., involved in regulating gene expression. The current study aimed to evaluate the expression of SGO1 and SGO1-AS1 in different stages of disease progression; we also compared their expression pattern in tumor tissues with healthy tissues in colorectal cancer patients.
Methods & Materials: In total, 40 tissue samples of patients with colorectal cancer were reported according to the examination and criteria with the approval of a pathologist. Besides, 40 normal tissues were sampled from a completely healthy part of the intestine of the same patients. After RNA extraction and cDNA synthesis, the Real-time RT-PCR technique was used to evaluate the expression of the desired genes in the study groups. ROC curve analysis was also used to determine the ability of each selected gene to diagnose the disease.
Ethical Considerations: This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Shahrekord Azad University (Code: IR.IAU.SHKREC.1398.020).
Results The obtained data suggested that SGO1 significantly decreased in the colorectal cancer tumor samples (P<0.001) and SGO1-AS1 LncRNA significantly increased expression, compared to adjacent healthy tissues. Additionally, in the age group of below 60 years, compared to the age group of over 60 years, SGO1 expression increased and SGO1-AS1 expression decreased. Based on the AUC obtained from the ROC diagram, it was found that the SGO1 gene with AUC=0.8041 and SGO1-AS1 with AUC=0.6364 could significantly distinguish a healthy population from patients with colorectal cancer.
Conclusion: According to the collected results, SGO1 -AS1 and SGO1 were significantly reduced and increased in tumor tissue, respectively; however, only the SGO1 gene was introduced as a good marker for diagnosing colorectal cancer.

Abstract
Background and Aim The use of allograft alone or in combination with other bone materials has significantly improved bone-augmentation procedures. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of topical gentamicin solution (80 mg) with allograft on guided bone regeneration in defects in rat skull.
Methods & Materials Twelve Wistar mice were randomly divided into two groups, with 6 in each group. Three defects were created in their skulls, one filled with demineralized freeze-dried bone (DFDBA) allograft alone, the other with allograft with gentamicin 80 mg solution, and the third defect were left empty as a control group. After 4 and 10 weeks, the mice were killed for histological specimens. Histological and histomorphometric evaluations were performed to qualitatively and quantitatively assess bone formation, a new bone type made, new bone vitality, inflammatory response, connective tissue type, and angiogenesis.
Ethical Considerations This study was approved by the ethics committee of Arak University of Medical Sciences (Code: IR.REC.ARAKMU.1397.30).
Results At the end of 4 and 10 weeks after surgery, the average percentage of ossification in the area of defects was higher in the group that received allografts with gentamicin, and during this period, a significant difference was seen between these groups and the control group.
Conclusion According to the present study, the use of gentamicin in combination with DFDBA has a significant effect on bone regeneration in defects in the rat skull.

Abstract
Background and Aim Various research studies have investigated the relationship between anxiety and worry. The present study aimed to examine the mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation and mindfulness in the relationship between anxiety and worry.
Methods & Materials The present study follows a correlational design study. The research sample included 248 students of Kashan universities in Iran studying in the 2017-2018 academic year. The study data were collected using the generalized anxiety disorder (GAD-7), Pennsylvania state worry questionnaire (PSWQ), the Persian short form of cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (CERQ-P-short form), and five-factor mindfulness questionnaire (FFMQ). Then, the obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS v. 22 and AMOS v. 22 software.
Ethical Considerations The Ethics Committee of Kashan University of Medical Sciences approved the study (Code: IR.KAUMS.REC.1396.36).
Results The results showed a significant relationship between generalized anxiety and worry, worry and cognitive emotion regulation, worry and mindfulness, generalized anxiety and cognitive emotion regulation, and anxiety and mindfulness. The results of the structural equation modeling confirmed the mediating role of cognitive emotion regulation in the relationship between anxiety and worry. Also, the path coefficient of mindfulness and anxiety was removed from the model because it was not significant.
Conclusion Generally, cognitive emotion regulation plays a mediating role in the relationship between anxiety and worry. These findings seem applicable in the individual, family, educational, therapeutic, and interpersonal mental health fields.

Abstract
Introduction: Generalized anxiety disorder can be described as a debilitating disorder characterized by negative evaluation by others, internal shame, negative self-concept, as well as high levels of anxiety and avoidance in specific social and functional situations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effective of hypnotherapy in promotion subjective well-being and sleep quality in people with generalized anxiety disorder.
Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest and a control group design and conducted on 40 persons who had generalized anxiety disorder in Rasht, Iran in 2023 and were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (20 persons in each group). The hypnotherapy was conducted during 6 sessions in the experimental group, while the control group did not receive any treatment. The data were collected through the subjective well-being and sleep quality Inventory. Multivariate analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Payame Noor University (Code: IR.PNU.REC.1402.070).
Results: The results indicated that hypnotherapy was effective on subjective well-being (F= 33.38, P=0.001) and sleep quality (F= 5.10, P=0.03) in people with generalized anxiety disorder; this method also increased their subjective well-being and sleep quality.
Conclusions: The based on the results of the present study, hypnotherapy is effective in promotion subjective well-being and sleep quality in people with generalized anxiety disorder. It suggests that these method are used along with other psychological and pharmaceutical therapies for people with generalized anxiety disorder as a clinical intervention.

Abstract
Introduction: Maternal folate supplementation during pregnancy is associated with reduced risk of several fetal neurodevelopmental disorders. However, it is not well known that excess folate intake from diet and supplements can impair neurodevelopment and behavior in offspring. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the effect of chronic and high doses of folic acid before and during pregnancy in female rats on learning and spatial and avoidance memory in male and female offspring.
Methods: 24 female Wistar rats received doses of 0.5, 1, and 2 mg folic acid by intraperitoneal injection two weeks before and during pregnancy. The control group received normal saline. Male and female offspring were divided into 8 groups. Learning behavior and spatial memory were measured by Morris blue maze test, avoidance memory by shuttle box test. The results showed that taking a dose of 2 mg folic acid before and during pregnancy causes spatial learning deficits in male offspring.
Results: While spatial memory is unchanged compared to the control. This dose of folic acid also causes a disturbance in avoidance memory in both male and female offspring.
Conclusions: Our results suggest that high doses of folic acid supplements during early life (fetal) have the potential to impair neurological functions such as memory. Although the severity of this disorder can depend on the gender of the child.

Abstract
Introduction: This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of combined treatment based on virtual reality and mindfulness on cortisol levels in individuals with generalized anxiety disorder.
Methods: The study employed a semi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test control group and a two-month follow-up period. The study population included all individuals with symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder who referred to the clinics of the Psychological Services Center and Counseling in Region 3, the Counseling and Psychological Services Center of Welfare in Region 6, and the Aryaz Counseling and Psychological Services of Region 6, Tehran, from April 2022 to the end of autumn 2022.
Results: The sample consisted of 30 individuals (10 males and 20 females) with generalized anxiety disorder, selected purposefully and randomly assigned to a treatment group based on virtual reality and mindfulness (15 individuals) and a control group (15 individuals). Pre-test, post-test, and follow-up cortisol levels were measured, and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale (GAD-7) was used as the entry criterion. Subsequently, the experimental group received an eight-session, 17-minute weekly treatment based on virtual reality and mindfulness. Participants in this group, while immersed in a virtual environment, watched 360-degree virtual reality videos, "Walking by the Beach" and "Pebbles in the Lake," accompanied by mindfulness audio contemplation, "Being Present and Breathing," and "Wise Mind," using a VR headset and VR-ARBOX. The control group received no treatment.
Conclusions: After completing the interventions, post-tests and two-month follow-ups were conducted. The data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) with SPSS23 software, revealing that the combined treatment based on virtual reality and mindfulness was effective in reducing cortisol levels. It is suggested that this combined method is used as a clinical intervention in order to reduce the level of anxiety and cortisol of people suffering from generalized anxiety disorder alone or along with other psychological and pharmaceutical interventions.

Abstract
Introduction: A woman due to menstruation, pregnancy and poor iron intake and absorption it is prone to iron deficiency anemia and its effects. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of process-based treatment on anxiety in women suffering from iron deficiency anemia and generalized anxiety disorder.
Methods: It was performed by utilizing a single-case experimental design. In doing this, six female participants suffering from iron deficiency anemia were selected through purposive sampling and placed under the individual process-based therapy during nine 60-minute sessions. In the pre-treatment stage, the participants responded to Newman, Zueling, Kachin and Constantino's fourth version of the generalized anxiety disorder questionnaire and underwent clinical interviews. They also completed the Beck's depression inventory in the baseline stages and third, sixth and ninth sessions of the intervention and finally at the 3-month follow up stages. The data were analyzed by the method of visual analysis, stable change index and recovery percentage formula, and the effectiveness of the treatment was evaluated using the Ingram criteria.
Results: The results showed that the percentage of overall recovery in depression for the first to sixth participants in the intervention stage was 49/26، 50/54، 59/27, 76/20، 54/41 و 57/83 and in the follow-up stages was 70/10، 64/70، 75/93، 78/61، 77/57 و 84/93; respectively. Also, the percentage of overall recovery in the intervention and follow-up stages was 57/90 and 75/30; respectively indicating to a success in therapy.
Conclusions: Process-based therapy reduces depression of the research participants and it is suggested to be used as a method of treatment and complementary to medical treatment to remedy comorbid mental disorders and improve the general performance of people with anemia.

Abstract
Introduction: Gestational diabetes is defined as hyperglycemia with onset or first diagnosis during pregnancy, with a lower frequency than general diabetes. Overweight and obesity, old age at the time of pregnancy, previous history of gestational diabetes, family history of type 2 diabetes, and race are risk factors for gestational diabetes. Recently, the relationship between two polymorphisms (rs9939609 and rs1421085) of Fat mass and obesity-associated (FTO) gene and the risk of gestational diabetes has been investigated in some studies with conflicting results. Therefore, our aim of the present study was to investigate the association study of rs1421085 and rs9939609 of the FTO gene on gestational diabetes.
Methods: In this case-control study, five cc of peripheral blood was collected from 100 cases with gestational diabetes and 116 control pregnant women from Taleghani Hospital in Arak, and then DNA was extracted. After designing the specific primers, the genotypes were determined by the Tetra ARMS-PCR method. Demographic information was compared with genotypes between the two groups were compared using SNPSTAT software.
Results: A significant correlation was observed between obesity, BMI before and during pregnancy, HbA1c, FBS, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels among mothers with gestational diabetes compared to healthy pregnant mothers P = 0.0001. According to data analysis, there was no significant association between rs1421085 and rs9939609 of the FTO gene with gestational diabetes.
Conclusions: Considering the conflicting results between the association of FTO gene polymorphisms with gestational diabetes, to better identify and understand the pathogenesis of the disease, more studies with a higher number of samples and more racial groups are needed. In the future, identifying the profile and locations of genetic susceptibility to gestational diabetes can be used in the patient's management.

Abstract
Introduction: Type 2 diabetes is a non-communicable disease that imposes a significant financial burden on the healthcare system each year. Numerous studies have demonstrated the involvement of inflammatory factors in the initiation and progression of this condition. The primary goal of this study is to compare the polymorphism of the interleukin 1 receptor antagonist gene among individuals with type 2 diabetes and those in the control group.
Methods: Following approval from the Ethics Committee of Gonabad University of Medical Sciences, blood samples were collected from 100 participants at Bohlool Hospital in Gonabad. These individuals were categorized into two groups: cases (individuals with type 2 diabetes) and controls (healthy individuals). DNA extraction was carried out using the salting out method. To examine the polymorphism, the specific segment was initially amplified through PCR with designated primers and then identified via gel electrophoresis. The data were analyzed using subjected to the Chi-square test at a significance level below 5%.
Results: Findings from the polymorphism analysis revealed a notable contrast in the genotype 2/1 (P = 0.001) and 2/2 (P = 0.004) within the case group when compared to the healthy participants. Specifically, individuals with genotype 2/1 exhibited a heightened risk of developing type 2 diabetes by up to 15 times.
Conclusions: Within the examined population, the polymorphism of the interleukin 1 receptor antagonist gene substantially influenced the predisposition to type 2 diabetes, amplifying the likelihood of developing this ailment. Individuals harboring allele 2 are at an increased susceptibility to type 2 diabetes.

Abstract
Introduction: Physical activity causes cardiac hypertrophy by a non-pathological change in cardiac structure, called physiological hypertrophy. Several molecular changes are involved in this process. Insulin-like growth hormone-1 (IGF-1) is an important hormone involved in hypertrophy of cardiomyocytes. Also, the role of GATA4 as a possible gene involved in cardiac hypertrophy is controversial. Therefore, the present study was conducted to find the effect of aerobic and interval training on IGF-1, GATA4 gene, and cardiac tissue.
Methods: Eighteen male Wistar rats (243.72 ± 23.41 g) were randomly divided into control, aerobic, and interval training groups (n = 6). The aerobic group trained for 8 weeks/4 days a week/38 minutes/ 65% of maximum oxygen consumption (VO2 max). The intermittent group trained 8 weeks/4 days a week/5 set/4 minutes/85-90% of VO2 max running with 2 minutes rest between the sets. The weight of the heart and left ventricle, IGF-1 concentration, and GATA4 gene expression were measured 48 hours after the training. The evaluation was conducted with a one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's post hoc test at a significance level of 0.05.
Results: The weight of the heart and left ventricle increased significantly in trained groups. IGF-1 and GATA4 gene expression increased in both the training groups than the control group.
Conclusions: Aerobic and Interval training increases IGF-1, GATA4 gene, left ventricle, and heart weight. Considering the shorter time interval training takes, it seems that interval training is more beneficial than aerobic training.

Abstract
Introduction: Reducing physical activity as well as consuming more calories than the body needs increases obesity and its related disorders, such as metabolic syndrome. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of eight weeks of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and resistance training (RT) on brain tissue gene expression of AKT2 and insulin resistance in obese Wistar rats.
Methods: 30 male rats weighing 160 to 185 grams were fed a high-fat diet for 12 weeks. After the approval of the obesity protocol of increasing the weight of the rats, which to be more than 300 grams, the rats were divided into three groups, including the control group (n = 10), HIIT group (n = 10), as well as RT group (n = 10). Until the end, the rats continued to eat a high-fat diet. HIIT was performed for eight weeks and five sessions per week, with an intensity of 80 to 95% of maximum oxygen consumption on a treadmill. Moreover, RT was performed with an intensity of 40-60% of a maximum repetition on the ladder. After eight weeks of training interventions, the expression level of the AKT2 gene in brain tissue was measured by the real-time PCR method.
Results: The results of the present study demonstrated a significant increase in AKT2 gene expression of HIIT and RT groups compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Furthermore, the results illustrated that the insulin resistance of rats in both training groups was significantly reduced (P < 0.05).
Conclusions: According to the findings of the present research, it could be concluded that HIIT, as well as RT interventions, probably causes an increase in AKT2 gene expression and could be effective in reducing insulin resistance and improving glucose profile.

Abstract
Background: Thyroid cancer is one of the most common types of endocrine malignancies. FASL is one of the most important apoptosis ligands expressed by tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes. This death ligand plays an important role in the elimination of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis in the Fas/FasL pathway, and its disruption induces tumorigenesis. This study investigated the association of the FASL gene polymorphism - INV2nt-124A/G (rs5030772) with the risk of thyroid cancer in the East Azerbaijan region.
Materials and Methods: In this case-control study, 115 patients with thyroid cancer and 125 healthy individuals without a family history of cancer from Tabriz city were studied. Five milliliters of peripheral blood were collected from each of these participants. Proteinase K method was used for DNA extraction and FASL gene polymorphism (rs5030772) was analyzed by ARMS-PCR technique. The results were analyzed using Javastat statistics package online software.
Results: The genotype frequencies of AA, AG and GG were 40.35%, 49.12% and 10.53% in patients and 41.6%, 52.8% and 5.6% in the control group, respectively. Genotypic and allelic frequencies did not show significant differences between the patient and control groups (p>0.05). By examining the clinicopathological characteristics of the patients, no significant relationship was seen between the clinical characteristics of the patients and the distribution of the genotypes of this polymorphism (p<0.05).
Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the FASL gene polymorphism - INV2nt-124A/G (rs5030772) cannot be considered as a risk factor for thyroid cancer in the studied population in in East Azerbaijan province.
