Abstract

Abstract
Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus is a systemic disease that can lead to lupus nephritis, as one of the most dangerous sign of this disease. In this report, a woman with acute renal failure subsequent from lupus nephritis is introduced.
Case report: 27-year-old woman with no history of systemic disease caused by swelling around the eyes of one month, nausea without vomiting, anorexia, dizziness and a 2-month history of hypertension was admitted. ESR in high range, hypertension and dizziness were also observed. Important findings in the laboratory exam were including pre-orbital edema, azotemia, anemia, hematuria, proteinuria, nephropathy normal size, high titers of anti-nuclear antibody, anti-DNA antibodies and lupus anticoagulant was in a field. Renal biopsy was done and the kidney biopsy response was pauci-immune glomerolu, and the patient was treated by pulse corton and hemodialysis.
Conclusion: Lupus nephritis as an important complication of systemic lupus erythematosus should be considered, so in patients with acute renal failure, lupus nephritis should be considered, while it isn’t usually observed pausi-immune nephritisin renal biopsy in patient with lupus.

Abstract

Abstract
Background: The exhaustive and strenuous exercise may cause damaging effects to the heart. The present study aims to investigate the effect of Saffron stigmas aqueous extracts on serum cardiac troponin T and Creatine kinase MB isoenzyme of male rats following an exhaustive exercise.
Materials and Methods: 64 Wistar male rats were assigned into following four groups (n=16) :1) without exercise +distilled water 2 ml, 2) without exercise+ aqueous saffron extract, 50 mg/kg+ distilled water 2 ml, 3) distilled water 2 ml + 8 weeks exercise, and 4) aqueous saffron extract, 50 mg/kg +distilled water 2 ml + 8 weeks exercise.At the end of experiment, half of the rats were killed immediately before exhaustive exercise; on the other hand remaining rats were killed immediately after performing an acute bout of exhaustive exercise on the treadmill. Serum cardiac troponin T and CK-MB isoenzyme levels were measured by ELISA and spectrophotometric methods, respectively. Data were analyzed by one–way ANOVA.
Results: The results show that in all groups, cardiac troponin T and CK-MB isoenzyme serum levels were significantly increased following an exhaustive exercise. The lowest increase was observed in group 4 and the highest increase was observed in group 1 (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of saffron extract with aerobic training is more effective than aerobic exercise or saffron extract alone in modifying the increase of serum troponin T and CK-MB isoenzyme level following an exhausting exercise.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Stress is a powerful modulator of memory performance. Emotional arousal affects the various aspects of learning and memory through stimulation of the amygdala or the hippocampus. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of stress related acute exercise on reconsolidation of dart throwing task learned with errorless method.
Materials and Methods: Participants of the study included 60 girls with an average age of 20.5 who were randomly assigned to three groups including: target (n = 20), control (n=20), and control 2 (n = 20). On the first day, all three groups under the same conditions acquired the skill of throwing darts in an errorless method and immediately after that performed the immediate retrieval. On the second day, after memory reactivation, the target group was exposed to stress resulting of acute exercise while the control 1 group did rest. The acute stress was presented to control 2 group without memory reactivation. During the experiment, changes in salivary cortisol were measured. On the third day, the delayed memory retrieval for each of the three groups was implemented.
Findings: the results showed that while the control 1 and control 2 groups did not show enhancement of dart throwing learning across delayed memory retrieval than immediate retrieval, the target group showed substantial enhancement across the same time (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Our findings indicate that acute stress after memory reactivation can facilitate the implicit motor memory reconsolidation in women.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Diagnosis of leukemia is very difficult, therefore, it is necessary to use image processing techniques. The main objective of this study was to provide a system based on intelligent models that could improve the accuracy of the diagnostic system for acute leukemia.
Materials and Methods: The images produced in this study were extracted from the University Degli Studi Dimilan database and processed in the MATlab 2014a software. In this research, Fuzzy-Cmeans method was used in fragmentation and neural network and support vector machine in classification networks.
Ethical Considerations: In this study, all principles of research ethics were considered.
Findings: Feature data were extracted using the original image transfer to RGB, HSV, Lab and Enhanced RGB spaces. The data obtained from the previous step were entered into the SVM network, then the network separated normal data from abnormal data. The results of comparing the output of the proposed method with different educational methods showed the highest mean of accuracy equal to 95.7%.
Conclusion: The application of the proposed network in this study was that eliminate the weak points of all the networks in addition to presenting the advantages of these network. Combining the networks improved the accuracy of output up to 98% and considerably reduced the time required for calculations.

Abstract

Background and Aim: In acute myeloid leukemia, a large number of immature cells develop, which can related to some single nucleotide polymorphisms presence in positions of  genes  that encodes enzymes involved in cell activation and evolution signaling pathways. In this study, the association of rs104893674 (A / C) polymorphism with the risk of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in samples obtained from Fars and Isfahan Province hospitals was investigated. 
Methods & Materials: In the present case-control study conducted at Islamic Azad University of Kazerun in 2019, 94 AML patients and 99 age and sex-matched healthy individuals were enrolled. The rs104893674 (A / C)   polymorphism was determined by Tetra Primer ARMS PCR method. Data were analyzed by SPSS (version23) software using Chi-square statistical test.
Ethical Considerations: This study with research ethics code IR.IAU.KAU.REC.1398.051 has been approved by Research Ethics Committee of Islamic Azad University of Kazerun.
Results: The results of this study showed a significant, allele and genotype-specific Association between rs104893674 (A / C) polymorphism with risk of AML. Thus, there are more likely to develop AML in AC genotype, individuals with A allele at this polymorphic site (P=0.000). 
Conclusion: The association of acute myeloid leukemia with the genetic polymorphism of the ZAP-70 protein can be considered as an option for prognosis of this complication in susceptible individuals.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is one of the most important viral diseases in the current decade which has caused widespread crisis worldwide. The disease was first reported on December 8, 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, in the patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. On January 8, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in China identified the virus, and it was named 2019-nCoV by the World Health Organization (WHO). The name of the disease was later changed to COVID-19. According to the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses, the virus is called SARS-CoV-2 which belongs to the family of Coronaviridae. The viruses of this family have caused outbreaks in several countries (SARS in 2003 and MERS in 2013) which have led to death and economic loss. 
Methods & Materials: In this review study, COVID-19 was studied from various aspects including evolutionary process and molecular biology of its virus. The selected articles were examined based on the information available in the WHO database. SARS-CoV-2 proteins were identified molecularly and functionally using data analysis and bioinformatics methods, and then related drugs and their effects on virus replication and inhibition were investigated.
Ethical Considerations: All ethical principles were observed in this study.
Results: Studies on the structure of SARS-CoV-2 and drug therapies to inhibit the disease progression showed that the use of different pharmaceutical strategies is effective in treating COVID-19 depending on the progression of the disease. Molecular studies showed that the use of nucleoside analogues and protease inhibitors is effective in the course of the disease and intravenous immunoglobulin, aminoquinoline compounds, TMPRSS2 inhibitors and viral S protein can be effective in the early stages of disease.
Conclusion: In order to control COVID-19, it is very important to study the structure of SARS-CoV-2 virus and its biology in the body. It is essential to identify the drugs that affect the virus based on its biological structure. Due to the structural changes of the virus and successive mutations in the virus genome as well as the emergence of resistant strains or highly contagious strains, further studies on the structure of SARS-CoV-2 and its changes in the body are recommended for designing pharmaceutical and therapeutic strategies. These strategies varies according to the stage of the disease, such that some drugs prevent the virus from entering the target cells in the early stages of the disease and other drugs, in combination with the virus’ surface glycoproteins, prevent the virus antigen from binding to receptors in the host cells. In the late stages of the disease, antiviral drugs including protease inhibitors and nucleoside analogues, interfere with the replication and structure of the virus. Due to intermittent changes in the virus and the development of drug-resistant viruses, it is important to continuously review virological and clinical studies and the performance of existing drugs against SARS-CoV-2.
