Abstract
Background: Olive oil as a mjor source of fat in diet, besides having a high level of unsaturated fatty acid contains biological components, such as the antioxidant phenolic compounds that can prevent the destructive effect of free radicals and their resulting mutation on cellular structures. The main goal of this study was to investigate the antioxidant and anticancer effects of olive oil through Salmonella typhimurium and microsome.
Materials and Methods: In this study, 16 Iranian olive oil samples and one Spanish sample were used. The determination test of anti-mutagenic potential was based on the method proposed by Ames et al. using mutant strain of Salmonella typhimurium TA100 and a well-known carcinogenic material (sodium azide) which by adding microsome of rat liver (S9), its anticancer effect was examined. Positive and negative controls which respectively contained sodium azide and distilled water were studied. Each test was simultaneously done three times and the percentage of inhibition was determined according to (1-T/M) × 100.
Results: The inhibitory percentage in its highest level in darkness was equal to 63.64% based on the variety of olive oil and in light was equal to 60.70%.
Conclusion: The findings of this study show that the antioxidant and anticancer properties of olive oil decrease with exposure to light

Abstract
Background: The main purpose of this study was to measure the level of lipids in ICU patients and its clinical outcome, specially the mortality rate and the relationship between level of lipids and APACHE IV score.
Materials and Methods: This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted on 100 ICU patients. Cholesterol level was measured on the first and second days after admission of patients. This was followed by examination of clinical outcome (e.g. mortality rate) and duration of their real and predicted stay through APACHI IV. The results were analyzed by Pearson correlation using SPSS.
Results: Mean serum of HDL, LDL, and cholesterol was lower than normal. These values for the first day were 33.16, 67.97, and 131.38 and for the second day were 23.63, 54.99, and 119.88, respectively. Mean APACH E IV score was 67.72. Result of Pearson correlation coefficient showed significant relationship (p<0.05) between APACHI IV score and cholesterol level of the first and second day, LDL level of the first and second day, HDL level of the second day. Moreover, there were significant relationships were observed between the real mortality rate and the cholesterol level of the first and second days, LDL level of the first and second days, and HDL level of the first day. There was a significant significant correlation between cholesterol level and LDL of the first and second days as well as HDL of the first day and duration of admission in ICU as predicted by APACHI IV.
Conclusion: The significant relationship between lipoprotein level of serum and APACHI IV indicates considering serum lipid beside other physiologic parameters for prediction of clinical consequences including mortality rate of ICU patients

Abstract
Background: Despite control, prevention and the availability of drugs to cure tuberculosis, TB remains an important cause of death from an infectious agent in Iran. Pulmonary tuberculosis is more than 80% of tuberculosis cases. Chest x-ray is sensitive, cheap and accessible instrument for the diagnosis of tuberculosis. The aim of this study was to determine the radiological changes in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, after consideration of inclusion and exclusion criteria, finally 477 radiographic patients referred to rural and urban clinics in recent decade were enrolled. The affected lobe or lobes of the left or right lung were recorded. The types of involvement were categorized based on patchy consolidation, cavitation, fibrosis, bronchiectasis, gohn lesion, bronchogenic spread and bronchopneumonia. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to measure the strength of association between continuous variables. For analysis of qualitative parameters, we use from Chi-square test. Data analysis was done in SPSS18 and p value below than 0.05 was significant.
Results: Out of 477 patients, mean age was 48.24±22 years old, male including 33.3%, Iranian and urban cases were 44% and 91.3% respectively. The most frequent involved site was the left upper lobe followed by the right upper lobe. The most frequent radiographic finding was patchy consolidation and then bronchogenic spread and pneumonic consolidation respectively. There was significant correlation between lung cavities in patients with nationality.
Conclusion: This study could help to early diagnosis and treatment of suspect patients to pulmonary tuberculosis.

Abstract
Background: Pathogenic Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains produce a polar flagellum that required for motility, adhesion, invasion and secretion of virulence factors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of prevention and treatment with anti-recombinant type B flagellin antibody in a burned mouse model.
Materials and Methods: One hundred twenty six mice were divided into 16 groups injected with different regimen of anti-recombinant type B flagellin antibody. Infections were caused by sub-dermal injection of P. aeruginosa PAO1 and PAK strains at the burn site. Groups were monitored for mortality for one week. Additionally, functional activity of this antibody was assessed by motility inhibition and opsonophagocytosis assays.
Results: Immunotherapy with rabbit antisera substantially increased (85.71%) survival rate of mice challenged with a homologous strain PAO1 compared with the control PBS. The mortality rate in mice infected by the heterologous strain PAK was only 28.57%. This antibody increased phagocytosis killing of the homologous strain but it only had a slight effect on the heterologous strain.
Conclusion: Passive immunotherapy protected burned mice challenged with the homologous strain but showed lower efficacy against the heterologous strain.

Abstract
Background: Acinetobacters are aerobic gram-negative bacteria which are distributed widespread in soil and water. The bacteria are isolated from cultured skin, mucous membranes, secretions and hospital environment. Acinetobacter baumannii, is a strain that more frequently isolated. Acinetobacter strains are often resistant against antimicrobial agents.
Materials and Methods: The method of this study was based on field, observation and test. On August and October 2015, samples were isolated from the soil and water of the Sadeghieh Square river in Tehran, respectively, and were transferred to the laboratory in the ice pack. 50 baumannii samples were isolated by biochemical methods (TSI, SIM, OF and gram test). November 1394, 100 clinical samples were isolated from Imam Khomeini hospital by biochemical method, and in the culture media Mueller Hinton agar plates were transferred to the laboratory. Antibiogram test for 150 baumannii samples was performed. Biofilms formation of Acinetobacter baumannii environmental and clinical samples was investigated by Congo red agar and culture plate methods.
Results: In all samples (clinical and soil), most of antibiotic resistance was 92% for imipenem and the resistance of water samples to imipenem was 99.9%. Biofilm formation by Congo red agar in water, soil, and clinical samles was resprctively 44%, 40% and 1%. All isolates were negative biofilm culture plate.
Conclusion: Considering Acinetobacter baumannii resistance to antibiotics and the lack of biofilm formation of in clinical and environmental isolates, it was concluded that there wasn’t any relationship between antibiotic resistance and biofilm formation.

Abstract
Introduction: The present study was conducted to analyze the focal relationship of the contribution of mental adaptation to cancer, health literacy, and perceived threat in predicting the early diagnosis of breast cancer.
Methods: This study was a descriptive correlational research. The statistical population of the present study included all women with breast cancer under treatment at Shohadaye Tajrish Hospital Cancer Treatment Center in 2023, and 310 people were determined to participate in the research using G*Power software and the available sampling method. They responded to Williams, Templin, and Hines's breast cancer literacy questionnaires, Champion's perceived threat questionnaire, Watson's mental adaptation to cancer and early diagnosis questionnaire. The data were also analyzed using a focal correlation test and multiple regression.
Results: The results showed that there is a significant relationship between the contribution variables of mental adaptation, perceived threat, and health literacy with the components of early cancer diagnosis (knowledge, attitude, and actions) (P ≤ 0.01). Also, the results showed that health literacy was 4.8%, mental compatibility was 3.4 percent and perceived threat 18.7% alone predicted the variance of early diagnosis of breast cancer. The perceived threat share is 38.9%, higher than all other variables.
Conclusions: Based on the statistical results, it can be said that increasing mental adaptability, perceived threat, and health literacy play a role in early disease diagnosis, and the importance of perceived threat is more significant than mental adaptability and health literacy, which should be considered.
