Abstract
Introduction: The acute response to renal ischemia-reperfusion injury involves attenuation of glomerular filtration rate, as well as reduced tubular function. The possible mediators involved in ischemia-reperfusion injury include vasoconstrictor agents including angiotensin II (Ang II). Inhibition of the angiotensin II receptor type 1 (AT1) diminishes the deleterious effects of ischemia-reperfusion on glomerular function. This study is done to investigate the effect of angiotensin II receptor type 1 antagonist on renal hemodynamic and tubular responses to ischemia-reperfusion injury in rat. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, acute renal failure was induced by 30 minutes clamping of both renal arteries in male Sprague-Dawley rats. Renal hemodynamic and excretory function was followed for 120 minutes reperfusion, while saline or the selective AT1 receptor antagonist (Losartan) was infused. In plasma and urine samples, Cr level was measured. Also plasma and urine content of Sodium was measured. Data was analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan tests. Results: Renal ischemia for 30 minutes decreased glomerular filtration rate during reperfusion and increased urine flow and Sodium excretion up to three fold. Losartan (10 mg/kg i.v.) did not change glomerular filtration rate prior to ischemia but improved it during reperfusion and there were progressive increases in urine flow. Losartan caused a lowering of ischemia-induced rise in Sodium excretion. Conclusion: The ischemic challenge may cause release of angiotensin II, which acts on AT1 receptors to decrease perfusion.

Abstract
Background: Ischemia/reperfusion-induced acute renal failure causes excretory functional disorders of nephrones. Ischemia/reperfusion injury increases iNOS expression in the renal tissue. Inhibition of iNOS expression and its activity can ameliorate ischemia/reperfusion-induced renal injury. The aim of this study was to determine the role of iNOS on progression of renal functional disturbances over the immediate post-ischemic reperfusion period. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, renal hemodynamic and excretory functions were evaluated in male Sprague-Dawley rats. First, a 30-min control clearance period was taken. Then following bilateral renal artery clamping for 30 minutes, four consecutive 30-min clearance periods were taken during reperfusion, while saline or L-NIL as a selective iNOS inhibitor was infused. In plasma and urine samples, Cr and sodium concentration levels were measured. Results: Renal ischemia for 30 minutes decreased glomerular filtration rate and urine osmolality during reperfusion and increased urine flow and sodium excretion. L-NIL did not change the glomerular filtration rate and urine osmolality prior to ischemia but it improved them during reperfusion and there were progressive increases in urine flow. Additionally, L-NIL lowered ischemia-induced rises in sodium excretion. Conclusion: iNOS had a considerable role in the development of disorders in hemodynamic and excretory renal functions during early hours after ischemia.

Abstract
Background: Albizzia lebbeck is used for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery. In this study the efficacy of hydro-ethanolic extract of this plant on enteric gram-negative and aerobic gram-positive bacillis was determined. Materials and Methods: In this experimental-clinical trial, cold maceration method by ethanol was used for extraction of Albizzia lebbeck fruit, seed, flower and leaves. Then its polyphenolic components were separated by ethyl acetate. After concentrating the different extracts through disk diffusion and tube dilution, the effect of minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bacteriocidal concentration (MBC) of their antibacterial component on shigella dysenteriae, proteus mirabilis, escherchia coli, bacillus cereus and bacillus anthracis were evaluated. Also, the antibacterial effects of Albizzia lebbeck extracts together and in combination with some antibiotics, were compared through variance analysis. Results: Different extracts of Albizzia lebbeck just had similar and positive effects on shigella dysenteriae, bacillus cereus, and bacillus anthracis. However, the hydro-ethanolic fruit extract was more effective than the falavnoid fruit, flower and leave extracts. MIC and MBC results for antibacterial material on the three aforementioned bacterias were 0.125 and 0.25 gram/ml, respectively while the effects of the polyphenolic components of this plant's fruit were similar to its hydro-ethanolic extracts. Conclusion: Through the identification of different components of Albizzia lebbeck and the attainment of new formulations of these components, the grounds will be provided for its application on treatment of patients with inflammatory diseases and asthma, and on improvement of their immune system.

Abstract
Background: This investigation was designed to determine the effects of a selective A1-AR antagonist (DPCPX) on renal hemodynamic and excretory dysfunctions induced during the early hours of ischemia/reperfusion (I/R). Materials and Methods: In this experimental research, rats were anaesthetized by sodium pentobarbital, and their renal arteries were, then, occluded for 30 min, four hours after the reperfusion period. There was a clearance period during the last one hour of reperfusion period throughout which urine was collected under 30-mm of paraffin, and arterial blood samples were taken during its beginning and end. Animals were divided into four groups DPCPX (2 mg/kg) or normal saline were injected 30 min before renal ischemia to the two groups of I/R+DPCPX and I/R, respectively, and to DPCPX and Sham groups which were subjected to surgery without clamping of renal arteries, respectively. Results: I/R resulted in elevations of plasma osmolality, plasma concentrations of Na, K, creatinine, and urea, fractional excretions of Na, K, and bicarbonate, absolute bicarbonate excretion, and urinary pH, but it induced reductions in arterial bicarbonate concentration, pH and Pco2, creatinine clearance, absolute excretions of Na and urea, free-water re-absorption, and urinary osmolality in the I/R group in comparison to the Sham group. Comparison between I/R+DPCPX and I/R groups showed that applying DPCPX could improve I/R-induced alterations in most of these parameters. Conclusion: Activation of A1-AR during the early hours of reperfusion following renal ischemia definitely contributes to the development of disorders in hemodynamics, tubular Na re-absorption, as well as excretions of K, urea, and acid-base.

Abstract
Background: Recently, reports have been made of the effects of boric acid (BA) on cancer prevention and inhibition of cancer cell proliferation. This study was designed to investigate the effects of this compound on K562 cell line as a model of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Materials and Methods: In this experimental trial, K562 cell line was cultured in the presence of 0.75 to 12 mmol concentrations of boric acid for 24, 48, 72, and 96 hour intervals. Anti-proliferative and cytotoxic effects of BA were measured by trypan blue exclusion test and MTT assay, respectively. Flow-cytometery was utilized for evaluating the effects of BA on cell cycle. Wright-giemsa staining was used for determining the effects of BA, and latex phagocytic assay was used for evaluating the phagocytic potential of the differentiated cells. Results: BA induced growth inhibition of K562 cells in a dose and time dependent manner after 96 hours of treatment with 12 mmol BA, cell proliferation of K562 cells was inhibited to about 83% (p<0.001). In addition, BA induced G1 cell cycle arrest in a way that for instance, after 6 days of treatment with 9 mmol BA, 98% of cell populations were at G1 level. Wright-giemsa staining and latex phagocytic assay results confirmed that K562 cells differentiated toward monocyte-macrophage lineage. Conclusion: Noticing the anti-proliferative and differentiating effects of BA, and no evidence of its adverse effects, this compound can be used as alone or in combination with other drugs in CML differentiation therapy.

Abstract
Background: Quran views sleep as a divine sign with deep meaning and interpretation. The aim of this study was to investigate the content of dreams from the perspective of Quran and psychology, as an appropriate method for understanding human characteristics and presenting a proper treatment approach. Materials and Methods: The present study is a descriptive, content analysis one. First a collection of psychology and interpretation books on this issue were considered. Then 75 students at Arak University of Medical Sciences were asked to report their dreams on daily or weekly basis which totaled 5688 dreams over a 6.5 month period. The dreams were analyzed using content analysis method and descriptive statistics, including the number of dreams, age, mean, and frequency of the reported parameters. Results: Noticing the nature of dreams, the interpretation of their content and concepts is of significance to the understanding of human traits and provision of treatment methods. The content of the reported dreams were, respectively, indicative of a high percentage of ethnic (93.33%), university and professors (89.33%), family (88%), religious beliefs (86.66%), friends (86%), nightmares (66.66%) returning to the past (61.33%), lucid dreaming (42.7%), and neurosis (41.33%). Conclusion: In the view of commentators on divine verses and psychologists, the elements present in the content of dreams can be utilized in obtaining a better understanding of the unconscious stream of human mind, knowing more about human beings, and treating mental disorders. The difference between these two perspectives, religious and psychological, is in dreams known as "true dreams" which are emphasized in Quran and Islamic sources, while psychology has failed to recognize them.

Abstract
Background: Leukemia is a malignant and progressive disease. Over-expression of inhibitors of apoptosis proteins (IAPs), such as survivin and its anti-apoptotic variants, including sur-ΔEx3, is the main cause of resistance to apoptotic effects of chemotherapy drugs. In the present study, the effects of CBX on apoptosis and expression level of survivin and sur-ΔEx3 and K562 cells (experimental model of chronic myeloid leukemia) were investigated.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, human K562 cells were cultured and exposed to CBX. Trypan blue exclusion test was used to evaluate growth inhibitory and viability effects of the drug. Fluorescent microscopy (acridine orange/ ethidium bromide double staining) and DNA electrophoresis were applied to the study of apoptosis. The expression level of survivin and sur-ΔEx3 was studied by semiquantative RT- PCR.
Results: The results showed that after the 48 h treatment of K562 cells with 150 µM CBX, significant growth inhibitory and apoptotic effects (up to 50%) were induced. In addition, after 2-4 h of treatment with CBX (150 µM), down-regulation of survivin and sur-∆Ex3 were observed. However, the expression level of survivin and sur-ΔEx3 increased to the level of control cells with longer treatment times (6-12 h).
Conclusion: Noticing the apoptotic and down-regulatory effects of CBX on survivin and sur-∆Ex3 expression, this drug can be used as a potential candidate for further studies on CML treatment, especially for inhibition of drug resistance in leukemia cells.

Abstract
Background: To date, several drugs have been proposed for the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) however, none of them has resulted in complete remission. Therefore, many efforts are in progress to find new drugs with the capability of inducing apoptosis. Recently, anti-carcinogenic effects have been reported for a drug named carbenoxolone (CBX) on several cell lines. In the present study, the effects of CBX on NB4 cell line, as an experimental model of APL, were examined.
Materials and Methods: In this trial, NB4 cell line was cultured and treated with different concentrations of CBX (50-250µM) in various time intervals (12-48 hours). Trypan blue exclusion test was used to evaluate growth inhibitory and viability effects of the drug on NB4 cell line. Fluorescent microscopy (acridine orange/ethidium bromide double-staining) and agarose gel electrophoresis DNA were used to study apoptosis.
Results: CBX induced growth inhibition of NB4 cells so that growth inhibition rates of NB4 cells, after the 48 hour of treatment with 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 µM CBX were 32.65, 47.52, 60.73, 68.91, and 74.33%, respectively. Furthermore, the results of DNA fragmentation and fluorescent microscopy assays indicated that apoptosis is a major mode of cell death after treatment of NB4 cells with above concentrations of CBX.
Conclusion: Noticing the growth inhibitory and apoptotic effects of CBX on human promyelocytic leukemia NB4 cells, it can be considered as a potential candidate for further studies on APL treatment.

Abstract
Background: Nucleostemin plays a critical role in controlling proliferation and self-renewal of stem cells and cancer cells. Thus, inhibition of nucleostemin expression could be a potent therapeutic approach in cancer treatment. In the present study, the effects of nucleostemin gene silencing in K562 cell line were studied.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, after transfecting NS-specific siRNA into K562 cells, changes in nucleostemin gene expression pattern were determined by semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Trypan blue exclusion test, MTT assay, and fluorescent microscopy were used to evaluate the growth inhibition and apoptosis of K562 cells, respectively. Flow-cytometery was utilized for evaluating the effects of nucleostemin gene silencing on cell cycle.
Results: The results showed the high expression of nucleostemin gene in K562 cells. NS-siRNA transfection into K562 cells at 200 nM inhibited the nucleostemin mRNA level up to 55% after 48 hours when compared to corresponding control cells. Forty eight hours after transfection, the cell growth decreased up to 33.7%. In addition, the silencing of nucleostemin induced G1 cell cycle arrest. Furthermore, fluorescent microscopy assays indicated that apoptosis occurred 48 hours after silencing nucleostemin gene expression.
Conclusion: Noticing the potent growth inhibitory and apoptotic effects of nucleostemin siRNA in human myeloid leukemia K562 cells, silencing this gene can be a potential target for inhibiting K562 cells as the stem cell model of chronic myeloid leukemia.

Abstract
Background: Use of inappropriate drugs in the elderly is a major health care concern. It is likely to increase adverse drug reactions and induce a substantial increase in health care costs. The aim of study was to evaluate inappropriate drug use in the elderly.
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, collecting data were collected from patient’s file for 260 patients aged 60 years who were admitted to Rasoul-e-Akram Hospital in 2012. Potentially inappropriate medications were identified based on the 2012 Beers criteria.
Results: The mean age of the patients was 75±8.3 years. Overall, 58(22.3%) of the patients were treated with potentially inappropriate medications. The most common inappropriately prescribed medications were benzodiazepines, pethidine, and TCAs.
Conclusion: To improve prescription quality in elderly patients in Iran, preparing a scientific criterion or guideline is necessary.

Abstract
Background: According to the Erikson`s generativity vs staqnation theory this study examines the impact of old women transition experiences on depression, feel aging and physical changes in rehabilitation institute of charity in Arak.
Materials and Methods: In this quasi- experimental study, 30 elderly women living in nursing homes aged over 65 years and tested geriatric depression score of 9 and above earned were selected and randomly divided into two groups of 15 people .one group was selected as control and the other test group. Questionnaires included: geriatric depression questionnaire, feel Aging questionnaire and physical changes. program experience with that already was set to be repeated during ten sessions on group test. finally independent and paired t-test were used for statistical analysis.
Results: Although ten sessions to transfer the experience were able aging feeling and depressed elderly women reduce but the decrease was not significant between the test and control groups, as well as reduced physical changes between test and control groups were not significant.
Conclusion: The lack of suitable components severely needed to establish an effective interaction model for hinder the effectiveness of the meetings was to conduct experiments requiring more study.

Abstract
Abstract
Background: The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of preemptive adding topical Ketorolac to Tetracaine drop on pain intensity and hemodynamic parameters during and after cataract surgery.
Materials and Methods: Eighty patients scheduled for elective cataract surgery under sedation and topical anesthesia, were randomly allocated to two equal groups: group T received Tetracaine 0.5%, and group TK received Tetracaine with ketorolac eye drops. One drop of each ophthalmic drug was applied every 10 minutes from 30 minutes before surgery. Pain intensity and hemodynamic parameters were assessed just before starting the operation and 5, 10, 15and 20 minutes during the operation, and then 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes after arrival of the patient to the recovery room.
Results: Mean pain intensity was significantly lower in TK group (1 ± 0.128) compared with T group (2 ± 1.54) during the surgery (p = 0.003), but there was no significant difference between the two groups in this regard during the recovery time (p =0.157). The number of patients requiring additional analgesic was not significantly different between the groups. There was no significant difference between the two groups regarding hemodynamic parameters except at 20th minutes and 15th and 20th minutes (heart rate and respiratory rate) after arrival to the recovery room.
Conclusion: Preemptive adding topical Ketorolac to Tetracaine drop is more effective than Tetracaine alone to reduce pain during cataract surgery.

Abstract
Introduction: The outbreak of covid-19 caused an impact on the process of education in schools and universities. Therefore, the current research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of virtual education based on interactive multimedia, video and educational factor on the learning rate and cognitive load of students in the conditions of covid-19 postgraduate students.
Methods: The method of the present research was quasi-experimental. The statistical population of the research included all master's students in the field of educational sciences in the course of research methods in the academic year 2019-1400, in the number of 36 people who were present in three different classes.
Results: The statistical sample also included a census of the research population, 36 people who were randomly assigned to three groups of interactive multi-media based education (9 people), film-based education (16 people) and training agent (11 people) And they responded to PASS (1994) cognitive questionnaire. To analyze the data, univariate covariance analysis was used through SPSS-23 statistical software. This research was reviewed in Islamic Azad University - Arak Unit and approved with the ethics code IR.IAU.ARAK.REC.1401.096. Informed consent was obtained from the participants and they were assured that their information would be confidential
Conclusions: The results showed that there is a significant difference in learning variables and cognitive load between each of the interactive multimedia groups and the video with the educational factor compared to the traditional group, with an error level of 0.05, and these groups performed better in learning variables and cognitive load. It can be said that virtual education based on interactive multimedia and video can be used to increase learning and cognitive load and cause students' academic progress.
