Abstract
Introduction: The objective of this study is to clarify the opinions of scientific board members of Sina university hospital about medical research and the ways of promoting these researches. Materials and Methods: This is a grounded theory study in which we used in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. Scientific board members and different authorities of the hospital such as the chief of hospital and the deputy of education were participated in the study. We used three different FGDs. Each group included about 5 people. We also interviewed the chief, the deputy of education and the head of clinical research center of the hospital. Results: Most of the participants in our FGDs believed that the most important factor for research promotion in the hospital was preparation of a data base of patients. They also mentioned that, different research workshops are important for empowering scientific board members in research. Conclusion: According to our study the most important strategies for research promotion in Sina hospital are data bank preparation, providing repeated research workshops, revising the bureaucratic process of proposal approvals, revising the manner of evaluation of scientific board members and more participation of the department of epidemiology in clinical researches

Abstract
Background: Green tea due to its antioxidant properties can prevent some types of chromosomal damage. In this study, the effects of green tea on repressing chromosomal aberrations induced by cell phone waves in bone marrow polychromatic erythrocytes of male Balb/C mice were investigated.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, 40 adult male Balb/C mice were randomly divided into five groups: control (natural conditions), sham exposed (no exposure to cell phone waves in vitro), experimental group 1 (exposure to cell phone waves), and experimental group 2 (intraperitoneal injection of 100 mg/kg dose of green tea extract for 5 days and exposure to cell phone waves), and experimental group 3 (intraperitoneal injection of 200 mg/kg dose of green tea extract for 5 days and exposure to cell phone waves). Micronucleus test was run in all groups. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey tests using SPSS software (p<0.05).
Results: The mean number of micronucleus in polychromatic erythrocytes of the sham group (3.47± 0.253) compared with control group (3.43 ± 0.605) did not show a significant difference (p> 0.05), whereas the mean micronucleus frequency in the experimental group 1 (5.64±0.308) increased significantly. However, the mean micronucleus frequency in experimental group 2 (0.92 ± 0.129) and experimental group 3 (0.55 ± 0.046) compared with the control and sham exposed groups decreased significantly (p = 0.001).
Conclusion: Cell phones microwaves (940 MHz) induce chromosomal aberrations in bone marrow polychromatic erythrocytes of male Balb/C mice, but green tea has inhibitory effects and reduces chromosomal damage.

Abstract
Background: Today, ultrasonography has become the main tool used for the evaluation of fetal anomalies. The aim of this study was to evaluate fetal heart rate changes immediately after combined two- and 4-dimensional ultrasound.
Materials and Methods: This study was performed on 191 pregnant women aged 15 to 45 years old who were referred for 4-dimensional ultrasonography in summer 2013. Before the onset of 2-dimensional ultrasonography, baseline fetal heart rate was measured by ultrasound. At the same time, the maternal heart rate was recorded during one minute. Then, combined ultrasonography was performed and same parameters were recorded at the end.
Results: Maternal heart rate significantly decreased after combined ultrasonography (p=0.0001). Fetal heart rate did not differ before and after ultrasonography (p=0.693).
Conclusion: Four-dimensional ultrasonography has no effect on fetal heart as an indicator for evaluating the fetus temperature.

Abstract
Abstract
Background: Recent Research has pointed to the involvement of lysyl oxidase (LOX) in the muscle development. Despite the fact, there is currently no direct evidence that lox is involved in the myogenic factors and exercise-induced hypertrophy. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of lysyl oxidase inhibition on exercise-induced hypertrophy, as well as the gene expression of MyoD1, myogenin, TGF-β and LOX in FHL muscle of wistar rats.
Material and Methods: In this experimental research, 32 male Wister rats with an average weight of 220±15 were divided into four groups: resistance training, normal control, treated control and treated resistance training. Rats performed a resistance training for 8 weeks in which animals climbed a vertical ladder of 1m and inclined at 85° with weights attached to their tails. In order to inhibit lysyl oxidase, treatment group rats received daily injection of intraperitoneal β-aminopropionitrile (120 mg/kg/day). FHL muscle was extracted to measure relative muscle weight, as well as genes expression of MyoD1, myogenin, TGF-β and LOX by real time-PCR.
Results: Relative weight of FHL muscle was decreased significantly in the treated groups with BAPN, compared with normal groups (p<0.05). Lysyl oxidase showed a significant increase compared to the normal control group following a resistance training (p<0.05). LOX gene expression in treatment groups showed a significant increase compared to normal control group (p<0.05). TGF-β gene expression in BAPN-treated groups significantly was increased (p<0.05) and Myogenin in treatment groups showed a significant decrease compared to normal control groups (p<0.05). The expression of MyoD1 gene in treatment groups was only decreased significantly in the treated control groups compared to normal control groups (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Results showed that inhibiting the lysine oxidase enzyme could affect the genes involved in hypertrophy and reduce the hypertrophy induced by resistance training.

Abstract
Background: In recent years, increasingly antibiotic resistance problem among Klebsiella isolates and side effects of antibiotics overuse have made researchers to study the antimicrobial activity of medicinal plants. The aim of this study was to study the inhibitory effect of ethanolic and aqueous extract of Vaccinium arctostaphylos on ESBLs producing Klebsiella strains.
Materials and Methods: Among 143 isolates of Klebsiella collected from some hospitals and clinical laboratories in Karaj, ESBLs producer were screened by phenotypic confirmatory test (PCT). One of them was identified based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing. MIC and MBC of ethanol and aqueous extracts of Vaccinium arctostaphylos were determined using microdilution method on selected ESBLs producing Klebsiella strains.
Results: Resistance to ceftazidime, ceftriaxon and cefotaxime was observed in 14.7% of the isolates. 32 isolates (22%) were detected as ESBL producers. Results of MIC and MBC tests showed that ethanolic and aqueous extract of Vaccinium arctostaphylos have inhibitory effect on ESBLs producing Klebsiella strains,
Conclusion: The presence of antibacterial activity could be confirmed in most plant species used in traditional medicine in Iran and we should focus on combining traditional medicines and modern drugs.

Abstract
Background and Aim: In recent years, Multidrug resistance has been increasing among Klebsiella isolates. The aim of this study was to survey existence of integrons and its relation with antibiotic resistance among clinical isolates of Klebsiella.
Materials and Methods: From Jun 2015 to May 2016, 129 Klebsiella isolates collected from Karaj hospitals and laboratories. Statistical population included 80.6% female and 19.4% male. Antimicrobial susceptibility was performed using Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion and ESBLs producer were screened. Integrons were detected using PCR.
Ethical Considerations: This study with research ethics code IR.IAU.K.REC.1396.16 has been approved by research ethics committee at Islamic Azad University of Karaj, Iran.
Findings: The highest and lowest percentage of sensivity were found to ofloxacin (89.1%) and amoxcicillin (6.2%), respectively. 82.9% of isolates were resistant to more than two antibiotics from different classes. Among 129 isolates, 19.3% of the isolates harbour integrons. Frequencies of MDR among integron-positive isolates were 100%. Also, 71.3% and 28.7% of isolates were ESBLs positive and negative respectively.
Conclusion: Results showed integron elements were prevalent among MDR isolates. Integron-associated resistance genes can be served as reservoirs of multi drug resistance within clinical isolates and presence of integron can be used as a marker to identify MDR isolates. Prevalence of ESBLs among clinical isolates of Klebsiella showed that antibiotics like ampicillin or amoxicillin-clavulanic acid are not effecvtive anymore in treatment of UTIs.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Phonological awareness skills, as part of phonological processing abilities, can predict the extent of success in acquiring written and reading skills. Phonological awareness skills are of concern in children with severe and profound hearing loss, which has been less studied in this population. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate these skills in Cochlear-Implanted (CI) children and compare them with their healthy counterparts.
Methods & Materials: The study population included 25 CI children and 25 healthy children, aged 4-6 years, who were monolingual Persian speakers. The selected CI and healthy children were selected from the Rehabilitation Center of Naqmeh and the Kindergartens in Mashhad, City, Iran, respectively. After selecting each participant, the test of phonological awareness was administered. To compare the mean scores of each subtest, the obtained data were analyzed in SPSS v. 21 using the Mann-Whitney U test.
Ethical Considerations: This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (Code: IR.MUMS.REC.1396.263).
Results: The mean scores of CI children were significantly lower than that of their healthy peers in all phonological awareness subscales (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The obtained data suggested that healthy children presented better performance than the CI children in the phonological awareness test. Poor phonological awareness skills in CI children seem to be associated with hearing deprivation before cochlear implantation; thus, it requires to speed up surgery at an early age and the implementation of an effective rehabilitation program.

Abstract
Background and Aim: Topical supplements and vitamins have often been used to accelerate the healing of burn wounds. This study investigated the effects of topical application of vitamin C solution on burn wounds.
Methods & Materials: This research was performed on 30 patients with extensive second-degree burns on one or two organs with similar burns. The study subjects were randomly divided into the intervention and control groups. The intervention group received topical application of vitamin C solution in addition to silver sulfadiazine ointment in the burn area; however, only silver sulfadiazine ointment was applied in the burn area in the control group. The wounds were examined and scored on days 1, 3, 7, and 14 using the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS using repeated-measures Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).
Ethical Considerations: This study was approved by the ethics committee of sabzevar university medical sciences. (Code: IR.MEDSAB.REC.1394.60).
Results Eighteen of the 30 examined patients were male and 12 were female. Their Mean±SD age and body mass index were 43.03±11.90 years and 27.82±4.08 kg/m2, respectively.
Conclusion: The repeated-measures ANOVA data indicated that the study groups were significantly different concerning the final mean scores given to the wounds (P=0.047). In other words, the research groups significantly differed in wound healing; thus, topical application of vitamin C significantly improved wound healing in the study participants.
