Abstract
Introduction: Androgenetic alopecia is a very common disease. According to some reports, up to 96% of people have some form of this disease. In this paper we compared the effect of an herbal drug composed of the urticadioica, chamomilla, thymus vulgaris, equisetum arvense and foeniculum vulgare with 2% Minoxidil solution in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.
Materials and Methods: We evaluated 82 patients suffering from androgenetic alopecia in a double blind prospective study. We counted terminal and vellous hair in 1 square centimeter of the predetermined area of scalp before and after treatment. After 6 months of treatment, the results were evaluated
Results: According to our findings, herbal drug and Minoxidil were effective in regrowthing the hair (45% vs. 35% respectively) and there were no meaningful differences between efficiacies of these two drugs
Conclusion: Herbal drug can be used as an adjunct or as an alternative to Minoxidil for treatment of the androgenetic alopecia.

Abstract
Background: Allergic rhinitis, a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract, includes an IgE-mediated inflammatory response in the mucosal region of the aerial tubles. Since IL-8 plays a role in increasing the amount of immunoglobulin E and serves as an effective factor in the prevalence of this disease, so this study aims to investing at that whether IL-8 genotypes of 133 C/G polymorphism is associated with the amount of immunoglobulin E in serum in patients with allergic rhinitis.
Materials and Methods: In this analytical and descriptive study, by investigating 130 patients with AR and 62 healthy control volunteers in Chahar Mahalo Bakhtiari province, total level of IgE in serum was determined by ELISA method and then its association with 133 C/G polymorphism was investigated. T-test and chi-square statistical analyzes were performed using SPSS software for statistical analyses.
Results: the total serum IgE level of the patients with GC genotype of 133 C/G SNP were significantly higher regarding normal individuals (p<0.05).
Conclusion: The sigmificant relationship between 133 C/G genotype in IL-8 P gene promoter and increased serum IgE level confirms tht it plays a role in the prevalence of AR.

Abstract
Abstract
Background: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is one of the most common complications in the patients undergoing strabismus surgery. The aim of current study was comparing supplemental 80% and 40% oxygen on reducing postoperative nausea and vomiting in the pediatrics undergoing strabismus surgery.
Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial study, 100 pediatric patients scheduled for strabismus surgery under general anesthesia were allocated randomly into two parallel supplemental 80% and 40% oxygen groups during surgery. PONV in patients was compared until 24hrs after operation.
Results: In the first 6hrs postoperatively, PONV in the supplemental 40% and 80% oxygen groups were 48.8% and 30.6% respectively, also were 20.8% and 12.2% in the 6 to 24hrs postoperatively. Therefore, there were no significant differences between both groups in regarding of PONV in 6hrs and 6 to 24hrs postoperatively (p values were 0.18 and 0.25, respectively).
Conclusion: According to our results, there is no any difference between 40% and 80% oxygen postoperatively in the pediatrics undergoing strabismus surgery.

Abstract
Background and Aim Menopause is a period in a woman’s life that can be physically damaging. However, its effect on bone mineral density is still debatable. This study investigated the relationship between serum calcium, phosphorus, and alkaline phosphatase indices with lumbar bone mineral density in active and inactive postmenopausal women.
Methods & Materials The number of subjects was 55 active postmenopausal women and 60 inactive postmenopausal women aged 45 to 85 years. Serum indices of calcium, phosphorus, and alkaline phosphatase and anthropometric of the subjects were measured. The Pearson correlation coefficient test was used to analyze the research data. SPSS software v. 26 was used to analyze the data.
Ethical Considerations This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Allameh Tabataba’i University with code IR.ATU.REC.1399.038.
Results The results showed a significant correlation between serum levels of alkaline phosphatase (P=0.021), calcium (P=0.019), and phosphorus (P=0.011) with lumbar bone mineral density in active postmenopausal women and also between body mass index with lumbar bone mineral density in both groups of active (P=0.014) and inactive (P=0.038) postmenopausal women. No significant relationship was found between other indicators.
Conclusion According to the results of the present study, being active may have had beneficial effects on bone metabolism and has led to a better state of bone mineral density. It may also help to use these blood and anthropometric variables in identifying people at risk for osteoporosis in adulthood and old age.
