This  study  is  about  the  relation  of  malnutrition  and  parasitic  infection  which  was  performed  by  comparison  of  60  malnurished  children  aged 6-60  month  and  55  healthy  ones  of  the  same  age  group.
The results   showed:
1.A significantrelationbetweenmalnutritionandincreasedprevalenceofparasitic .(p<0003)
2.A significantrelationbetweenmalnutritionandincreasedprevalenceofparasiticinfection.(P<0003) andnonpathogenic (p<006) parasites.

Abstract

The study has been done on 56 jaundice neonates in Tabriz children hospital to determine validity (sensitivity, Specificity, Predictability) and the estimation of the severity of hyperbilirubinemia through the neonates skin with icter. The results showed: Sensitivity of the method is 85% and its specificity is between 60-100%. It means that whenever icter reaches to plantar area in 85% cases; its level is more than 20mgldl; otherwise there is no hazard emerged from the bilirubin of more than 20mgldl in 60-100% cases.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study that investigate the relationship between some of the personal – social characteritistics  of mothers (such as age, education, occupation, parity)birth spacing and breast feeding (type of nutrition in the first 6 months of age, duration of lactation and the most of supplementary feeding) with growth status of children in first year. The site of this study is Tabriz. The sample size were 314 children who referred to 20 medical centers and the information were gathered through special forms. then these data were analyzed with step by step regression method. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between mothers education and childs height growth (p=0.0497), birth spacing with childs weight growth (p=0.0042) , continuity of breast feeding with childs height (p=0.0331) and head circumference growth (p=0.0038) and childs sex with his/her height- weight and head circumference in the first year of life. This study shows that promotion of mothers education, appropriate birth spacing and continuity of breast feeding can increase the velocity of growth in children.

This research has done for assessment of attitude, practice and knowledge of the internists in medicine faculty in relation to prevalent and nonprevalent diseases of pediatrics involving 10 prevalent and nonprevalent diseases. Results of prevalent emergency diseases:
Index of study =93% good management and trearment ability with supervision of manager = 40%

Follow up = 43%, Reporting=10%
In nonprevalent emergency diseases:
Index of study = 88%, management and treatment ability= 27% good, management and treatment ability with supervision of manager = 47%, Fpllpw up = 26%, Reporting = 3% and in regard to above subjects, scores of education in this department were: prevalent emergency = 36% optimum, 59% acceptable, 5% nonacceptable and nonprevalent emergency=18% optimum, 67% acceptable and 15% nonacceptable.

Abstract

The aim of this research is the study of sensitivity , specificity , positive and negative predictive value of conjunctival , nail bed and palmar pallor for estimination of severity of anemia. This study was done on pediatric hospitalized patients who were under 14 years old in Amir-Kabir hospital of Arak City. The results of this study show that total number of patients were 1341 , which 564 cases ( about 42% ) according to laboratory tests had anemia. Sensitivity of clinical tests in diagnosis of childhood anemia correlates with severity of anemia, for example, the sensitivity of palmar pallor for detection of mild anemia is 8.9% and for severe anemia is 100%. Also positive predictive value of clinical findings varies according to severity of anemia. Positive predictive value of palmar pallor for detection of mild anemia is 26.3% and for severe anemia is 94.8%. Generally , theses clinical tests have a high validity in diagnosis of severe anemia.
