Abstract

Introduction: The existence of acoustic trauma secondary to drill noise during chronic ear surgeries has not yet been clearly demonestrated. This investigation aims to document the hearing loss that occures in patients who underwent mastoidectomy.
Materials and Methods: Sixty-three (38 male and 25 female) consecutive patients (11-57 years) who underwent modified radical mastoidectomy were included. In a concurrent clinical trial design, we measured bone conduction thresholds before and after (1 week and 1 month) operation on both sides.
Bone conduction thresholds were assessed in 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 Hz frequencies.
Results: Paired-test results showed a satistically significant temporary (TTS) and permanent threshold shifts (PTS) were occured in the 2000-4000 Hz region for operated (on addition to 1000 Hz) and non-operated ears, but clinically PTSs were not remarkable and TTSs were important only for operated ear (P<0.05). The correlation between duration of noise exposure and magnitude of threshold shift was only significant in operated ear in 2000-4000 Hz region (P<0.05).
Conclusion: We could not demonestrate any permanent hearing loss caused by drill-generated noise, but resultant noise is able to produce TTS in the operated ear in 2000-4000 Hz region. We found poor relationship between duration of noise exposure and magnitude of threshold shifts.

Abstract

Introduction: The phone's sound beams are known to be a valid test that reflects the activity of foreign hair cells, and are therefore very useful for assessing cochlear changes, such as those that occur after exposure to noise.
method: In one clinical trial, 74 volunteers aged 18-25 were examined by simple random sampling. The results of audiometric tests of the participants' pure sounds and tympanometry were within the norm on the day of the experiment. In this study, the phonetic tests of the phone were spontaneous, transient, and distorted from both ears of the subject, which was considered as a basic level of evaluation for us. Then a person's ear was selected and in the intensity of SPL 100 decibels and for 5 minutes in his ear was given a turn. After 2 minutes after the end of the presentation, the previous evaluations were repeated in both ears and the range of responses in both ears was compared.
Results: In 34 participants, submucosal nostrils led to a decrease in amplitude or SOAE responses. One of the interesting findings in this study was the emergence of new peaks in SOAE responses in the opposite ear after the presentation of the sound. The proposed noise created a significant statistical decrease in the range of TEOAE response both in the affected ear and in the opposite ear. Comparing the mean amplitude of DPOAE responses before and after exposure to shift-induced noise in the ear was significant in the Hertz range of 1699-6299, but this comparison was not significant in the opposite ear. The mean time of DPOAE incubation before and after exposure to shingles did not show a statistically significant difference in both the affected ear and the opposite ear.
Conclusion: The findings show that the phone's sound beams are a good tool for tracking hearing damage caused by noise. TEOAEs are also more sensitive to tracking than other tests, and can even be used as a very fast screening tool to assess susceptibility to hearing damage caused by noise before entering high-end industrial environments. And considered sound.

Abstract

Introduction: Hyperlipidemia is one of the main known risk factors for coronary artery disease. Regarding the undesirable consequences of hyperlipidemia and its long-term treatment, it is important to use drugs with lesser complications during the long period of treatment.
Materials and Methods: This study was a double-blind randomized clinical trail that carried out on 65 patients with hyperlipidemia. Patients were divided into two groups. Case groups took dill pearl, and control group took placebo pearl for one month. Serum lipids of both groups were measured before and one month after interference. Data was analysed with t-test and p<0.05 was considered significant.
Results: In this study , differences between mean level of cholesterol, triglyseride, HDL and LDL in case group before and after interference were statistically significant (P<0/05) but in control group only difference between HDL before and after interference was significant .
Conclusion: Regarding the result of the study dill pearl can be a useful drug for treatment of hyperlipidemia.

Abstract

Introduction: It is well recognized that hearing is critical to speech and language development, communication, and learning. Otoacoustic emission (OAE) is an efficient and sensitive method to identify subjects at risk for auditory impairment. Infants who require admission to neonatal intensive care unit are reported to be at 10-20 times greater risk for hearing impairment. The porpuse of this study was to investigate the incidence of hearing impairment in neonates screened by OAE. Materials and Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 148 newborns having risk factors for hearing impairment reffering to Taleghani hospital of Arak and Aboozar hospital of Ahwaz were evaluated. All clients had normal otoscopic findings. Transient evoked (TEOAE) and distortion-product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) were measured in both ears. If the results of otoacoustic emissions were not normal, these tests were repeated one month later. Patients who did not pass the second stage were reffered for comprehensive auditory evaluations. Data analysis was performed using Kolmogrov-Smirnov and t-tests. Results: 41 and 28 cases could not pass the examining test at the first TEOAE and DPOAE examination, respectively. Also, 23 and 16 cases did not pass the examining test at the second TEOAE and DPOAE evaluations, respectively. These participants underwent auditory brainstem response evaluation and 11 of them had abnormal responses. In 5 cases of confirmed ones, hearing impairment was due to aminoglycoside side effects. Conclusion: OAE hearing screening of at-risk newborns is a clinically beneficial approach to early detection of hearing impairment. Regarding the high prevalence of hearing loss in our subjects (7.43%), prevention of its complications is highly recommended in this population.

Abstract

Background: The use of proper contrast agents is very effective in improving the quality of medical imaging. In this study, we dealt with the effect of high PH blackberry juice accompanied with omeprozole in reducing the upper fluid artifact in MRCP images. Methods: This single blinded before-after clinical trial was done with the enrollment of 34 patients. After receiving official agreement from the patients and applying the enrollment criteria, they were ordered to take two 20mg omeprozole capsules the night before the exam. The next day, while they had been held NPO, they were exposed to the first MRCP. After this, they drank 300cc blackberry juice and were re-examined after 15 minutes. The related checklists were printed and three radiologists independently inspected the reduction of artifact checklists and the resolution of images. Eventually, the quality of images and the mean of artifact reductions in the images before and after black berry Juice consumption were compared. Results: Reduction of artifact scores due to gastrological secretions did not show any significant differences before and after black berry juice consumption (2.97±0.37 and 2.89±0/87, respectively). Additionally, no significant changes were observed in the visibility of gall bladder, water ampoula, common hepatic duct, intrahepatic ducts and head of pancreatic duct images. There was a decrease in the common bile duct visibility (p=0.01). In the case of pancreatic duct tail and body visibility, images showed improvements (p=0.04 and 0.03, respectively). Conclusion: Blackberry juice, as a contrast agent, does not seem to have enough paramagnetic metals and does not improve the quality of MRCP.

Abstract

Background: Olive oil as a mjor source of fat in diet, besides having a high level of unsaturated fatty acid contains biological components, such as the antioxidant phenolic compounds that can prevent the destructive effect of free radicals and their resulting mutation on cellular structures. The main goal of this study was to investigate the antioxidant and anticancer effects of olive oil through Salmonella typhimurium and microsome. Materials and Methods: In this study, 16 Iranian olive oil samples and one Spanish sample were used. The determination test of anti-mutagenic potential was based on the method proposed by Ames et al. using mutant strain of Salmonella typhimurium TA100 and a well-known carcinogenic material (sodium azide) which by adding microsome of rat liver (S9), its anticancer effect was examined. Positive and negative controls which respectively contained sodium azide and distilled water were studied. Each test was simultaneously done three times and the percentage of inhibition was determined according to (1-T/M) × 100. Results: The inhibitory percentage in its highest level in darkness was equal to 63.64% based on the variety of olive oil and in light was equal to 60.70%. Conclusion: The findings of this study show that the antioxidant and anticancer properties of olive oil decrease with exposure to light

Abstract

Background: Immune thrombocytopenic purpurais an acquired disorder. Conventional treatment of immune thrombocytopenic purpuraincludes prednisolone (1mg/kg/day). Customarily, steroidsareadministered for about 3-6 weeks however,steroids have several side effects. The aim of this study was to compare theefficacy of two and three-week prednisolone therapy in patients with immune thrombocytopenic purpura Materials and Methods: In this randomized clinical trial, 66 patients with confirmed immune thrombocytopenic purpurawho had referred to KhansariHospital, Arak, were randomly selected and administered prednisolone (1mg/kg/day) for two and three weeks alternatively. Patients’ platelet count and complications associated with the treatment (diabetes and hypertension) were compared. Results: At the end of the treatment course, there was not a significant difference in mean platelet count between the two groups (p=0.748). Side effects in two and three-week protocols were 15.2% and 18.2%, respectively however, distribution of the complications (side effect) in the two groups was equal (p=0.9). Conclusion: Considering the absence of significant differencesin mean platelet count between the two groups at the end of the two treatment protocols and the higherpercentageof side effects in the patients that had received the three-week prednisolone therapy protocol, it seems that the two-week course of immune thrombocytopenic purpuratreatment is as effective as the three-week protocol.

Abstract

Background: Otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) are faint sounds generated within the inner ear that can be regarded as a sensitive tool for reflecting inner ear status. There are various factors that may influence OAE recording. One such factor that has not been extensively examined to date is body position. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of body position on the OAE responses of adults with normal hearing. Materials and Methods: In an analytic cross-sectional study, 26 normal hearing adults (18-25 years old) were evaluated. Transient OAEs (TEOAEs) were recorded in five different positions: supine, sitting, side-lying, 30°-Up, and 30°-down to evaluate their inner ear function. Data were analyzed using SPSS software 17. Results: Mean TEOAE amplitude values were significantly higher in the side-lying position compared to other positions (P=0.01). The most significant TEOAE amplitude differences were observed at the high frequencies (3000 Hz and 4000 Hz) in side-lying position orientation compared to low and medium frequencies. Conclusion: The results from the present study revealed that body position has a remarkable effect on inner ear function, and this effect is more obvious at high frequencies.

Abstract

Background: Most of the current regimens in the treatment of multiple myeloma include thalidomide. Thalidomide is a modulator of the immune system and according to several studies, its main complication is thromboembolism. The aim of this study is to compare the thromboemboli prophylactic effect of aspirin and low dose warfarin in standard risk multiple myeloma patients that treated with regimens containing thalidomide.

Materials and Methods: In this double- blind clinical trial study, sixty-six patients with multiple myeloma under treatment with thalidomide-containing regimens with standard risk for thromboembolism who were admitted to Khansari hospital, entered the study according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The incidence of thromboembolism in these patients was evaluated.

Results: Five patients in the warfarin group and 2 patients in the aspirin group had thromboemboli. Chi square analyses showed no significant difference between groups (p=0.635).

Conclusion: The results showed that both drugs are effective in preventing thromboembolism and can be used as a prophylactic treatment.

Abstract

Abstract
Background: Lipases are one of the groups of enzymes which are important in medicine and industry. In gastrointestinal tract of human, lipase catalysis break down of triglyceride. Bacteria have also lipases which break down triglyceride in their culture medium and can use its fatty acids as carbon source. Dicyclomine is an antispasmodic drug that relieves smooth muscle spasm of the gastrointestinal tract. Few drugs have been determined to inhibit lipase activity, in this research; dicyclomine was introduced as an inhibitor of lipase, for the first time.
Materials and Methods: Lipase was extracted from Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the effect of dicyclomine was tested on its activity. The bacterium was cultured in medium with olive oil as carbon source and the supernatant was used for enzyme assay. For monitoring the enzyme activity, Para nitrophenyl palmitate (pNPP) was used as a substrate and the induced product was measured by visible spectrophotometer. Lineweaver-Burk plot was utilized for revealing the type of binding. 
Results: This research has shown that dicyclomine can inhibit lipase. Inhibition plot determined that the drug can inhibit the enzyme by competitive manner. Calculation of Ki and IC50 values showed that the drug can bind to the enzyme with high affinity. The study of enzyme activity in different pH and temperature revealed that optimum activity of enzyme, in the presence or absence of the drug, was observed in pH 8 and 60oC.
Conclusion: For the first time, dicyclomine was introduced as an inhibitor of lipase and the kinetics factors of the drug were investigated.

  2. Background: Students face a lot of emotional problems and psychological stress that affect their individual and social adaptation as well as their quality of life. Therefore, examining treatment models for these problems is very important. One of these models, the Fractal Diagnostic Treatment Model, is based on emotional regulation skills for a wide range of emotional disorders that can be used properly. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of integrated diagnostic therapy on individual and social adaptations and emotional adjustment.
  3. Materials and Methods: A total of 70 female students were selected and assigned into two diagnostic groups (35 patients) and control (35 people). The experimental group received 12 sessions of diagnostic diagnosis weekly. Data were gathered in this study by Social Compliance Scale and Graz's Regulatory Emotion Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multivariate covariance analysis (MANCOVA).

Results: The results showed that transdiagnostic treatment focused on the dimensions of emotional regulation, including: refusal of emotional responses (F = 120.69, p < 0.01), impulse control problems (F = 14.57, p < 0.01), lack of emotional awareness (F =104.82, p< 0.01), lack of emotional resolution (F=42.64, p< 0.01), participation problems (F = 41.00, p<0.01), and limitations in achieving emotional regulation (F = 85.33, p<0. 01) is effective. Also, the results showed that exacerbation-based fetal diagnostic therapy was effective on individual adaptations (F = 146.76, p < 0.01) and social (F = 85.02, p<0.01).
  5. Conclusion: Regarding the effect of Fract-Intervention therapy based on emotional adjustment on personal and social adaptation and student's emotional adjustment dimensions, these results are applicable to clinical practitioners, counselors and practitioners in academic counseling centers.

Abstract

Abstract
Background: Biofilm formation represents one of the major virulence factors of Candida albican. However, the number of antifungal drugs is limited for the treatment of candidiasis. Combination therapy is one of the most frequently used techniques to alleviate this problem. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the antifungal activity of fluconazole and terbinafine alone and in combination on C. albicans biofilm inhibition.
Materials and Methods: In this cross- sectional study, 10 clinical isolates of C. albicans were identified from the immunocompromised patients. Antifungal susceptibilities were performed using the CLSI standard reference method. The crystal violet colorimetric method, direct microscopic observation and expression of HWP1 gene at different concentrations based on MICs were carried out to investigate inhibition of biofilm formation in C. albicans treated alone and in combination with fluconazole and terbinafine.
Results: The data indicated that combination of fluconazole with terbinafine exerted synergistic effects with fractional inhibitory concentration index ranged from 0.375 to 1.5. The combination of fluconazole with terbinafine reduced the number of yeast form and inhibited the biofilm formation. Finally, the expression level of HWP1 was down regulated (p< 0.05).
Conclusion: These results suggest the possibility of fluconazole/ terbinafine to treat candidiasis with a higher efficiency. In addition, HWP1 gene could be probable target in synergistic interaction of fluconazole/ terbinafine against C. albicans biofilm.

Abstract

Abstract
Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. It has been proven the association of cause of this disease with changes in several genes. One of the pathways associated with breast cancer is the folate reuptake pathway. The key enzyme of this pathway is coded by the TYMS gene. MicroRNAs control the expression of genes by binding to their regulatory regions. In this study, we evaluated changes in the regulatory region of TYMS gene with demographic characteristics (including the grade of cancer and metastasis) in breast cancer patients.
Materials and Methods: In this study, the regulatory region of TYMS gene was investigated using related bioinformatics software. After collecting cancerous samples and DNA extraction from blood samples of normal and patients, change in the miRNA binding region by digestion with NlaIII enzyme was assayed.
Results: Bioinformatics studies showed that the restriction site of some of the endonuclease enzymes in the 3'-UTR of the TYMS gene is related to the binding region of miRNAs, including Hsa-miR-433-3p. The results indicated the correctness of the genomic purification process, the PCR and enzymatic digestion reaction. In this study, in the regulatory region, CC homozygote, AC heterozygote and AA mutant homozygote variant had differences with control group (OR: 1.3465, %95 CI: 0.7275 to 2.4923, p<0.05). Also, the association of AA genotypes with metastasis and high grade of the patients was confirmed statistically.
Conclusion: Studies have shown that some of polymorphisms in the key genes involved in cancer are directly related to their diagnosis and treatment process, and given the importance of timely diagnosis of cancer, the achievement of diagnostic biomarkers in breast cancer in the early stages will be important. Probably, the nucleotide change at the site of the microRNA binding site could be used as a diagnostic biomarker for degree of tumor progression.

Abstract

Cancer is a multifactorial Disorder caused by variations in multiple genes coupled with environmental risk factors. The genes involved in the carcinogenesis can be classified into several groups, including proto-oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, genes involved in genome stability and cell migration. The accumulations of genetic changes lead to tumor mass and formation of new blood vessels to grow. The tumor is not a collection of single cells and has bilateral interactions with its environments. The tumor microenvironment (TME) has a similar function to stem cells niches that affect tumor progression and metastasis. The study of this environment is effective in diagnosis and treatment of cancer and provides valuable and new information for controlling tumor malignancy and risk assessment (1). This paper focuses on TME components and the molecular targets for cancer treatment. Investigating of TME by cellular and molecular profiles indicated that there are different types of cells in this environment that promote neoplastic changes and metastasis and protect the tumor from the immune system and lead to resistance to treatment (2). Among the different types of cells present in the TME, including parenchymal tumor, fibroblasts, epithelial and inflammatory cells, extracellular matrix and signaling molecules, blood and lymph vessels, the highest number of cells are fibroblasts. In the early stages of carcinogenesis, normal fibroblasts prevent tumor growth. The genetic changes of these cells, with the help of inflammatory agents, release the growth factors that directly inhibit tumor-stimulating cells or indirectly inhibit apoptosis by stimulating growth and inducing angiogenesis. Therefore, a complex system of interactions is created by the involvement of a variety of cellular factors and molecular signals (3,4). Within the TME infrastructure, there are interactions of tumor cells with extracellular matrix (ECM), tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and endothelial cells (EC). These communications have been established with the help of chemokines, growth factors, matrix metalloprotezes (MMPs) and ECM proteins, that lead to migration, invasion to distant organs and metastasis (5). TME restores tissue and induces metabolic changes in the tumor by making changes in the stromal and immune cells. This remodeling in a TME is similar to around of scar surrounded by different cells (6). Based on tissue type’s cancers, more than 40% of the CAFs can be derived from bone marrow progenitors that are recruited to the growing TME. Although CAFs may also be derived of epithelial cancer cells or stained fibroblasts that differentiate into myofibroblasts. In epithelial tumors, fibroblasts, mainly through the secretion of growth factors and chemokines, led to an altered ECM, and increase signals of proliferation and metastasis, and ultimately lead to tumor progression (7). The ECM also accumulated a scaffold of inflammatory and immune cells, lymph and nerve arteries. In general, in the metastatic phenomenon, the invasive tumors should be able to move, to break up the extracellular matrix of the tissue, to form new blood vessels, to survive in the blood and to stabilize in a new tissue environment. In studies that have been conducted to understand how these capabilities are achieved in cancer cells, TME has been identified as critical to the development of this phenomenon. TME stabilizes invasion of tumor to distant organs via signals to stromal or non-malignant cells and activation of transcription of genes (8,9). Also, angiogenesis precursor cells that are recruited to TME under hypoxic conditions are associated with metastasis. Some studies have shown that miRNA molecules are the main regulator of this activity, leading to changes in fibroblasts in the TME. MiR-21, miR-31, miR-214 and miR-155 play an important role in differentiation of normal fibroblasts to CAF (10). Although miRNAs in TME have not yet been fully identified, some studies indicated that miRNAs produced by TME cells and specially CAFs affect on tumor growth (11). Musumeci and colleagues showed the role of miRNAs in TME in prostate cancer. Their study found that expression of miR-15a and miR-16 down-regulated in fibroblasts of TME in prostate cancer. MiRNAs target oncogenes such as Bcl-2 and WNT pathway components (12). Several strategies have been proposed to remodel TME components in cancer treatment (2). Blocking the recruitment and activation of stromal cells in TME is one of these molecular approaches. Based on this strategy, Avastin has been designed to treat clone and glioblastoma cancer. Some drugs also block the interaction between the TME cells with the tumor and angiogenesis, ECM and inflammatory compounds in TME. Siltuximab is a human anti-IL-6 antibody that inhibits the pathway of IL-6 / STAT3 in cancer cells and its therapeutic effects have been reported in xenografet models. The effect of this drug in the Phase II clinical trials in platinuim-resistant ovarian cancer is under survey. More accurate identification of gene networks and cell pathways will help us improve our understanding of the pathogenesis of cancer and the advancement of therapeutic approaches. Therefore, in addition to controlling the signaling pathway inside the tumor, it is also necessary to identify the TME. Although, despite the recognition of the importance of TME in carcinogenesis, due to the multiplicity of involved cells, the origin of molecular mutations in its components is still not fully detected and requires extensive research in this area.

Abstract

Background and Aim: Online games are one of a kind of Internet games that, due to increasing awareness of the people and especially young people with the Internet, increasing the speed of the Internet and the availability of mobile Internet through smartphones, especially among boys, it has become so sweeping. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between family emotional atmosphere and mental health with addiction to online game.
Materials and Methods: This study is descriptive correlational. The population consisted of all bachelor student of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in 2013-2014 academic year. The research sample consisted of 192 student of who were selected using multi stage cluster sampling. To collect data, online game addiction (OGA) scale & the family's emotional atmosphere (FEA) scale and mental health (GHQ) scale were used.
Ethical Considerations: This study with research ethics code 94228369 was approved in Research Ethics Committee of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Iran.
Findings: The results show that there is a positive and significant correlation between the emotional atmosphere of the family and online addiction
(p <0. 01), and the overall score of mental health and addiction to online games (p <0. 01). Also, the results of regression analysis indicated that the family's emotional atmosphere could predict 0.30 variance of online addiction.
Conclusion: The results of this study, while confirming the relationship between addiction to online games with mental health, emphasize the importance of the family environment in increasing the extent of addiction to the game.

Abstract

Background and Aim: There exists increased demineralization risk of enamel adjacent to fixed orthodontic attachments by cariogenic bacterias (e.g., Streptpcoccus mutans, Streptpcoccus sobrinus) and inadequate data about commonly used orthodontic cements. Thus, we evaluated the antibacterial effects of three common domestic and foreign orthodontic cements (Glass ionomer, Zinc phosphate, & polycarboxylate) on two cariogenic pathogens (S. mutans & S. sobrinus).
Methods & Materials: In this laboratory study, after culturing two standard strains of Streptococcus mutans and Subrinus bacteria and concentrating and diluting them, a direct contact test was used to evaluate the antibacterial properties of types of cement. The study groups (n=5) included the following: three types of glass ionomer resilience cement, Hoffman’s zinc phosphate and Hoffman’s polycarboxylate, and three glass ionomer cement, zinc phosphate, and carboxylate from Aria Dent factory in Iran. The acquired data were analyzed using SPSS v. 17.
Ethical Considerations: The present study was approved by Babol University of Medical Sciences (Code: MUBABOL.REC.1391.7).Results: In both types of culture media, containing Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus subrinus bacteria, there was a significant difference between culture media containing 3 groups of cements respecting bacterial growth inhibition zone (P<0.001). In general, The mean diameter of the inhibition zone was greater in Iranian polycarboxylate, compared to its foreign counterpart (P<0.001).
Results: Regarding to zone of inhibition, there was statistically significant difference between three tested cements in both S.mutans and S.sobrinus culturing media (P<0.001). The mean diameter of inhibition zone was greater for Iranian polycarboxylate compared to its foreign counterpart (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Glass ionomer cement demonstrated better antibacterial effect compared to zinc phosphate and polycarboxylate cements. There was also greater antibacterial effect of three tested cements on S.sobrinus than S.mutans. Iranian polycarboxylate showed stronger inhibition on both mentioned bacterias compared to the foreign one.

Abstract

Introduction: Since a more appropriate psychological treatment has not yet been found in the treatment of autism to be a definite solution in autism, in this research, two more common psychological methods have been compared. Objectives The aims of this study were to compare the effectiveness of ABA and Fluortime play therapy on sensory processing in children with autism spectrum disorder in Qom in 1401.
Methods: The method of this quasi-experimental study was pre-test-post-test and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of the research included all the children with autism in land Qom at Golhay Behesht Autism Center. The statistical sample of this research was 45 people who were selected by available sampling, and randomly divided into three experimental groups using the ABA method (15 people Fluortime method (15 people) and the control group (15 people) were placed. The first experimental group was treated with the method of ABA in the designated sessions. 23 20-minute sessions were presented to the subject group. During experimental group Fluortime was treated with the method of 23 sessions of 20 minutes, it was presented to the subject group, then it was analyzed using analysis of variance with repeated measurements. Ethical Considerations: This article is approved by the ethics committee of Islamic Azad University Ahvaz branch IR.IAU.AHVAZ.REC.1401.032.
Results: The results of the analysis showed that the Flortime play therapy training in sensory processing was significantly at the level of the effect of the implementation of independent variables on the registration components down (P = 0.02) Sensory seeking (P = 0.001) Sensory sensitivity (P = 0.019) Sensory avoidance (P = 0.004) is significant. On the other hand, the average difference of sensory processing components in the applied behavior analysis and game group is significant. Fluortime treatment is significant with the control group. So that the mean of the components of sensory processing in both experimental groups has a significant0.05 ≥ P decrease compared to the control group.
Conclusions: This finding, in line with the change trend of the mean of the components of sensory processing, shows that functional ABA and Fluortime play therapy during the implementation period. And three months after the completion of the implementation period, it has led to a significant decrease in the average scores of sensory processing components. Sensory processing in children with autism spectrum disorder. It should be mentioned that in comparison, the scores of sensory seeking, sensory sensitivity and sensory avoidance in the Fluortime were higher than in the ABA method, and low registration was higher in the ABA method, but the results of the Ben Feroni test show that although each method was significant separately in sensory processing, the difference in effect Functional behavior analysis and Fluortime play therapy on sensory processing components of p>0/05 is not significant.

Abstract

Introduction: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers and the principal cause of death in women. One of the mechanisms of cancer cells for the lack of access to the immune system is the production of compounds suppressing immune responses, such as interleukin-10. On the other hand, vascular endothelial growth factor, by binding to its receptors on the surface of endothelial cells, plays a significant role in vascular permeability and tumor vascularity. In this study, the expression of interleukin-10 and vascular endothelial growth factor in breast tumor tissue was investigated in an experimental tumor model.
Methods: First, mammary tumors were experimentally induced in Balb/C mice, and RNA was extracted from the tumor tissue. cDNA was synthesized from the extracted RNAs, and the expression level of 10-IL and VEGF genes was evaluated by RT-PCR.
Results: The results of data analysis showed that the expression of IL-10 and VEGF genes in the tumor tissue was higher than in the cells of the control group, but this increase in expression was not statistically significant.
Conclusions: In general, the expression level of Interleukin-10 and VEGF genes was increased in the experimental tumor model, but broader research and the correlation with other involved factors seem necessary.

Abstract

Introduction: Novel antidiabetic medications are employed to manage glycemic control and mitigate the long-term complications of type 2 diabetes. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of adverse events, including hypoglycemia, associated with these novel antidiabetic agents in a cohort of patients with type 2 diabetes.
Methods: This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted on 157 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus attending the Endocrinology Clinic at Imam Khomeini Hospital, Urmia, during the summer of 2024. A convenience sampling method was employed to recruit participants. Data on demographics, the incidence of hypoglycemia, and reported adverse drug reactions were collected from all eligible patients through a structured interview. Subsequently, patients were stratified into three treatment groups based on the specific novel antidiabetic medication they received.
Results: In patients receiving sitagliptin, the most prevalent adverse events included arthralgia and rheumatic problems (26.31%), dermatological manifestations (36.84%), and allergic reactions (21.06%). Nausea (52.94%) and abdominal pain (17.65%) were the most frequent adverse events observed in patients treated with liraglutide. Polydipsia (28.72%), weakness and lethargy (26.6%), and dry mucous membranes (27.66%) were commonly reported in patients receiving empagliflozin. Hypoglycemia was observed predominantly in male patients aged 51-55 years receiving sitagliptin.
Conclusions: The findings of this study demonstrate a low incidence of hypoglycemia among patients treated with modern antidiabetic medications. Prevalent short-term adverse events observed included gastrointestinal disturbances, allergic reactions, and dermatological manifestations.
